Obama to reporter: 'Let me finish my answers' next time

J, you had little problem with the Bush platitudes that never answered any question.

Come on Joe, Blaming bad behaviour on the other guy is childish. Beneath you.

That said, I don't favor non-answers, and by all means try to get an actual answer, but if you are going to ask the question, let the person answer. The follow up, even state that wasn't a complete answer if such is the case, but allow him to answer.

I see, you don't like BS answers if it is someone you don't support, but since it is someone you support we should allow Obama to get away with blatent lying. Got it.

The reporter did let him answer, he just didn't allow his obvious lie, and that pisses off his supporters...Heaven forbid.

Why shouldn't the President criticize an interviewer? It's about time he did so. It's peanuts compared to what I saw Boehner do the other day when he asked a reporter why he always so loud. At least Obama did it off camera.

Yeah, that's why we have tape of it.....Off camera....HA!

What if it had been a liberal reporter from the Huffington Post?

The only interuption then would have been either to keep Obama on talking point to help him, or slobbering noises as the reporter kissed his feet.

LOOK AT IT.

That is a really dumb idea for a tattoo...

Honestly since when do we live in a country where people are suppose to bow down to the press? I think it should be the other way around and Obama should put em in check all he wants to. :)

I was on vacation this past week so I didn't keep up on newspapers but when did reporters get put on pedestal? I thought it was consensus that reporters are all biased and put their slant to the news.

I guess with the recent air traffice controllers gaffs that the news reporters got to move up couple notches of respect.

I musta missed the memo about the POTUS or anybody for that matter should have to suck any reporters jocks or panties. I do not think so.

You think the press should bow down to the president? That is scary and doesn't sound like any New Yorker I know.

I thought you libs were saying during the daily snarky bashing of GWB that it was the Presses job to challenge the President? What is it? Only when it is an opposition President that it is ok?

That you illibs fail to differentiate between challenge and common decency is unsurprising.

No, but he needs to have manners, and not chastise someone for doing nothing. His power has gone to his head.

If this exact thing happened but with John Boehner or Sarah Palin, you libs would be decrying them as being thin skinned and playing the victim. That you display such an obvious double standard is equally unsurprising.

in this instance, i see it is Obama who was unable to make such distinction
the reporter was not intrusive with his questioning technique
the lack of interruptions in that interview makes it appear that Obama was actually objecting to the intrusiveness of the questions' topic, focusing on Obama's limited support in texas
had the reporter been truly rude, then Obama's admonishment would have been a legitimate action. but since there was no rudeness to be found, Obama did nothing more than expose his short temper and ill feelings about his limited texan support

Nothing wrong with challenging the president. This has been repeated over and over again. What has also been said is that if you believe a question is important enough to ask, it should be important enough to listen to the naswer. This is a general truth, beyond this specific case. And nothing about not being rude means you can't be tough.

To which Obama was not privy to.

Here is a link to the uncut video:

Thank you for the uncut video. That really sheds a whole new light on things. It seems apparent that the President was visibly frustrated with the reporter interupted him during his answer regarding illegal immigration. And the presidents comment at the end was not said in a callous or accusatory tone, but in Obama's usual professor type of tones where he was giving the reporter advice. At least that is how I saw it.

I did see the President get frusted two times, once regarding illegal immigration and the other regarding the Space Shuttle program. But even those two incidents were pretty tame. It looks like the producer of the clip needed to spice up an otherwise straightforward interview. And using the comment at the end, hearing it and seeing the Presidents face as he said it, confirms that this piece was much ado about nothing.

No but I do feel they should show the POTUS some respect. BTW, where did you get I am a NYer? Just because I defend them does not mean I am one.

I'd like to know why it's so damn hard for some journalists to let people answer their questions....

where in that video did Obama have a difficult time providing an uninterrupted response
