I have to say that I haven't followed this very closely. However, he was acquited after government prosecutors tried to get him put in jail. I know some outside the U.S. don't understand the U.S. notion of due process, but from what I have read, I don't see any reason to ASSUME that there was something wrong with the trial.

He WAS convicted in Panama but was pardoned.

He was HELD for more than eight years without charges in Venezuela before he escaped from prison.

A US court has acquitted a veteran Cuban anti-communist activist and former CIA agent, Luis Posada Carriles, on immigration charges.

US federal prosecutors had accused him of lying to immigration officials, but a jury found him not guilty.

The verdict is likely to anger Cuba and Venezuela, where Mr Posada Carriles, 83, is wanted on terrorist charges.

Fidel is a communist dictator where his people don't have freedom of expression and Chávez is his puppy. Too bad Mr. Posada couldn't accomplish what he wanted to do.

So, you think it was ok for Venezuela to hold him without charge for eight years?

He was pardoned by the Pananamian president and a United States JURY found him NOT GUILTY. You don't have respect for the judicial system of the U.S.?
