US deficit up 15.7% in first half of fiscal 2011

WASHINGTON — The US budget deficit shot up 15.7 percent in the first six months of fiscal 2011, the Treasury Department said Wednesday as political knives were being sharpened for a new budget battle.

The Treasury reported a deficit of $829 billion for the October-March period, compared with $717 billion a year earlier, as revenue rose a sluggish 6.9 percent as the economic recovery slowly gained pace.

Because the Democrat Party cant even cut a Cowboy Poetry Contest........because they were kicking and screaming as the 60 Billion dollar mouse fart was cut from the 4 Trillion dollar hurricane........because the sole role of any and every Democrat Politician is to think of new ways to spend our money........

why did the party refuse to produce a budget for 2011?

why did barack the slasher hussein in his 2012 proposal totally abnegate the recommendations of his own debt commission, his fiscal fallback for 2 years

why does his 2012 budget, published in february, raise the deficit 20%?

why has his senate been sitting on hr1 since february?

why did he sign the bush/obama/clinton/boehner/mcconnel tax cuts into law just 2 months ago?

why are he and his so red hot to raise the debt ceiling?

how big a raise, this time, slasher?

and for how long?

the slasher is gonna work hard to make sure that that new roof is hi enough he can squeeze his 829b's and rising under its creaking timbers until past 2012, y'know

The bottom line is that....Obama is a domestic/financial disaster. At worst he is a guy who is in way over his head and its hard finding ANYTHING good to say about his presidency.

Sorry, your guy wrecked the economy and stuck Obama with the bill. Sorry he could not undo the Bush economy in two years.....

Bush was running a $700B annual deficit, then cratered the economy chopping $400B in annual tax revenue and costing an additional $100B in unemployment benefits... Let's see: 700+400+100 = $1.2T.... the running deficits were left by Bush.

(Comparable BLS data is not available for full presidencies before then.)
 
-chuckles- well this must be some kinda record for liberals..... . It took them 11 posts to get back to blaming Bush. I swear, in 5 or 6 more years, it might take them 25 posts to blame Bush. The liberal mantra has always been, and from what I'm seeing will always be …. blame someone else for your own ineptness.
