The emergence of abortion as the last and most contentious of the issues holding up a budget deal highlighted the enduring influence of social conservatives within the Republican Party even at a time when the Tea Party movement’s focus on fiscal austerity is getting most of the attention. …

The most radical social conservative elements, really terrorists amongst us, have tried to bring America to its knees. They failed but they were far too close to succeeding.

Terrorists? I don't support federal funding of abortions either. I suppose I am one as well...

Um yeah I don't really think being even radically anti-abotion is at all equivalent to terrorism.

The Pro-abortion(those who advocate that abortion be legal) crowd claims that no federal tax money is used for abortion. So why are pro-abortion democrats making a big stink out of this?

Oh lawd, anyone that doesn't want their tax money wasted on bull****, like abortions, is now a terrorist.

Are you ok with our tax dollars going towards welfare, WIC and other social programs that support these non-aborted "babies" until they are 18?

I'm not. Which is why we need to cut off those wastes of my tax dollars, too.

Two words: Kansas City. Anti-abortion terrorism.

This year they attempted to assassinate Planned Parenthood but they failed.

So, anyone that opposes tax money going to pay for abortions is equal to an abortion clinic bomber?

Do you realize how stupid you sound?

But hey, if you support state funded eugenics, more power to yuz.

Using a few radicals as representation for the norm is intellectually dishonest.

We need to step back from the cliff here. No one is a terrorist, devil, or a nazi. Let's try and have logical discussion.

Seems like someone cranked the bull****-o-matic up to 11.

I can't speak for him, but I can say that I support some form of government action towards helping people in such a situation. There are some interesting programs involving child services, which I think would be quite beneficial in this regard.

I would say that I am pro-choice. And I do not support federally funding of abortions. I do support funding of Planned Parenthood because they provide far more services than abortions. Having assisted people in obtaining services there, and having never assisted anyone in obtaining an abortion through PP, I can speak pretty authoritatively on that.

I also think that using the term "terrorist" is an appeal to emotion and renders your argument pretty pointless.

So what will happen to these babies that you think women should have?

They will be born and live the life that their parents can manage for it. Do I win something?

Yes. An award for the most overly simplistic response to a complex question.

Holy ****, I thought people on the left got upset when they were accused of wanting to hurt the US, but I guess it's just ok to say conservatives want to bring the US to it's knees, huh?

Terrorists? seriously?

I believe any organization that offers abortion services should be cut off from federal funding. If Planned Parenthood wants federal funds, they can get out of the baby murder business...

And I would disagree, especially since they are committing no murders.

Yes, because the people who perpetrated that are the same people sitting in Congress today...
