Energized Muslim Brotherhood in Libya eyes a prize

Alright, you pay attention pal, What do you think Obama is doing in Libya right now?

j-mac

I'm not 100% sure, which is a concern. But so far it is within the UN and limited. If he choose to invade and change the regime, he will be wrong. This is up to the Libyian people and the US.

You sure about that? You don't know what he is doing 100% but you are sure it is within UN mandate? how is that?

Oh, so Obama and the Libyans can make that choice and if they choose regime change you are perfectly ok with that, but let a repub do nearly the EXACT same thing and you are nothing but name calling and snotty vitriol...

You make me chuckle dude.

From the information we have, yes. What I don't know is what comes next.

J, go with what I said and not what you want to pretend I said. I clearly said Obama cannot decide that and ONLY the people of libya can.

Say something worth paying attention to then, instead of spinning, and BSing your way through life.

J, just because it isn't what you want said doesn't mean you shouldn't respond to what was actually said. :coffeepap

No, it's just that as you start to cloud your own words lately I could care less what it is that you are trying to say, Largely because it's all BS anyway.

J, there's no cloud. It's clearly stated. We do not have the right to decide who rules another country. That statement cannot be clearer. Do you agree or disagree?

Are we? I thought the UN and Nato were bombing. Am I wrong?

Are U.S. Troops Already on the Ground in Libya? - FoxNews.com

RET. COL. DAVID HUNT, U.S. ARMY: Yes, absolutely. You've got British service been in there about three weeks ago and actually got captured and released. The French GIGN have been in there and our special forces and our U.S. intelligence operatives and their assets. We do not conduct operations like this, large scale air operations, without people on the ground. They have been very successful, very good, not a lot of contact with the rebels because you don't know who to talk to. But, yes, we have got intel gathering and rescue guys and special operations guys on the ground, have had them for about 12 days.

O'Reilly and a Ret. Col.? Well, that's conclusive. :coffeepap However, it has nothing to do with what I said. Care to address that?

1) The Muslim Brotherhood does not support al-Qa'ida nor does it support Terrorism as a method for political power.
2) The Muslim Brotherhood exists in every Muslim majority country and tends to support republican virtues against dictatorial arbitration.
3) If you believe in American values for liberty, civility, and democracy, then you must also accept democracy's outcome.
4) We're finally on the right side of history in the Arab world. It is time to end American support for dictators. Democracy promotes ballots, not bullets.

Your expert sources are not experts. One is retired and the other needs to retire.

Gheeze Joe, sometimes, I swear..... The point was that you were making as far as I saw was that the US is not the world police force. However, when you really are honest about it, it is a dodge to use the UN as cover for sending American resources in to use against a nation state then say that 'oh it is a UN, or NATO mission'... We all know what that means, and that is that the US will be the standard bearer. But nice to see you aknowledging that the MB is really anti America....A bit at a time I suppose.

j-mac

It is because the US is by far the only country capable of implementing a no-fly-zone in Libya. All other countries of NATO combined does not even come close to the amount of money spent on US defense. I would love to see America scale back its military budget, but the right thinks our society is built upon legions, and not civil code.

Depends how you look at it. The US needs to push for more peace treaties with Israel.

Israel is getting one of the largest foreign aid packages in the history of the world. What kind of peace treaties are you looking for?

Which means what, exactly? This could apply to any action or inaction, right?

I'm not a fan of military force in Lybia, and certainly not in regime change, and I've stated that. But like Afghanistan I can at least understand the thinking concerning trying to reduce civilian suffering.

If you read the attached link one can deduce that civilian is another slippery slope. Who is on what side, anyway.

Oh you think it's Egypt alone? silly man.....

j-mac

Then who is it...

and before you start let me tell you who doesn't believe in the destruction of Israel: Kingdom of Jordan, Syria, Bahrain, Turkey. Now let me tell you which country has the nearest capacity of beating Israel in a conventional war....

Turkey? Maybe... but barely

Except thr COL. is correct Obama signed a private order for covert operations 3 weeks a go.

What statement you mean your opinion about who we should support. I say get Gaddafi out and set up free elections. if they elect terrorist like the Palestinians did we will know where we stand.

The Muslim Brotherhood support terrorism.

Peace treaties with middle east nations that Israel will not be attacked. Aid does little to stop the weekly rockets

Turkey? Maybe... but barely

There is a constant threat from Lebanon and Gaza
