Vice President's staff lock journalist in a closet for hours during a fundraiser

And I thought it was outrageous for reporters to be restricted to free speech zones a few years ago.

I'm thinking I would have already filed a multi-million dollars suit against Biden's people and Biden if he even knew about it.

This is kidnapping and false imprisonment at the least and punishable by serious prison time.

This certainly one way to manipulate the press.

I guess Biden's people never got the memo on Obama's being an open and accessible administration. Or the whole thing was juust another in a long list of Obama lies. I vote the latter.

But try telling Vice President Joe Biden’s staff that, after they held a local reporter in a closet for hours after he was invited to cover a Florida political fundraiser because they did not want him talking with the guests.
As the unaware $500-a-head invitees dined on caprese crostini with oven-dried mozzarella and basil, rosemary flatbread with grapes honey and gorgonzola cheese, grilled chicken Caesar and garden vegetable wraps, veteran reporter Scott Powers was locked away.

This link takes you to the Daily Mail Article and it is quite long. I just tested it again and it works just fine.

Im calling shenanigans on this one.

A: crazy as Joe is, i doubt he would let his staff do something THIS stupid.

B: daily mail. Nough said there.

C: Powers said he had a cell phone in that closet, why didn't he take a picture with it, or a video to show us all his claim. As he says in the article "i tried to stick my head out, and they said not yet not yet" somebody just wanted some attention. I would have videod or something.

A local political reporter was confined to a storage closet during a Florida fundraiser featuring Vice President Biden, the reporter's newspaper says.

The Orlando Sentinel published a brief blog taking note of the lengths to which one staffer went to prevent pool reporter Scott Powers from talking to people during a fundraiser for Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., at the home of a wealthy developer.

The Sentinel reported that, while about 150 guests waited for Biden to arrive at the $500-a-head fundraiser, somebody from Biden's advance team ordered Powers to stay in a storage closet -- at least until Biden got there.

To enforce the order, the staffer then stood watch outside the door, according to the Sentinel, which posted a photo Powers took of his cluttered "temporary prison."

Powers eventually left the closet to watch the vice president. He later sent out a lengthy report on his remarks to members of the media. The report itself did not mention the closet, saying only that "press coverage was limited to a single pool reporter, who was allowed to listen to the remarks but not given an opportunity to talk with anyone at the event."

Powers later gave a more detailed account of what happened to The Drudge Report, saying he had to wait in the closet for about an hour and 15 minutes before emerging to hear Biden and Nelson speak.

Let's hear the usual liberal spin justifying that.....

Wow congrats on being a partisan hack. What you are trying to do is attribute Biden's dumba***ery to everyone 'liberal.'

I will agree with you that this should not have been done and is a clear violation of this man's 1st Amendment rights, however you should not try to take this and use it as a political tool because then it shows that you do not care about what happened, you only want it to further your own political views.

And another thing, why was his first instict to speak to the drudge report, I mean surely if he had this kind of evidence he could go to any major news source with it, they'd eat that **** up like cup cakes.

Oh and another thing, any witnesses? Surely out of the 150 people that attended, plus staff someone would have seen a guy randomly being shuffled into a closet.

How do we know he didn't take the picture of the closet and then come back out again.

This all smells very, very fishy.

Now I'm not saying it couldn't have happened and some of you are going to say "God I'll make excuses for any liberal".

No not really, it's just there's so many lapses in logic in this entire story it just doesn't make sense at this point.

We don't know that there were, or were not witnesses. Further research might be warranted on that point.

Well FOX has the story, but I'm sure you'll dismiss them as a source as well. Regardless, just because certain media outlets don't pick up a story that makes the Obama admin look bad, that means it didn't happen?

Hell, the other day I heard Limbaugh say this outright. Some caller said "if it was a Republican president doing X..." and Limbaugh replied "You could say that about literally any news story these days."
