WASHINGTON — When an admitted al-Qaida operative planned his itinerary for a Christmas 2009 airline bombing, he considered launching the strike in the skies above Houston,Texas, or Chicago, Illinois, The Associated Press has learned. Tickets were too expensive, however, so he refocused the mission on a cheaper destination: Detroit, Michigan.

If you are a Houstonian, like I am, then there is a lot to be said for the Middle Eastern art of haggling over prices. Works for me. Hey, airlines, raise the price for flying to Houston again, please. LOL.

It only makes sense to use the cheapest flight. After all it's not about the perks and your not going all the way to the destination.

It does however suggest that Homeland Security needs to keep an eye on the flights offering discounts etc.

If the terrorist had done his homework, he would have found out that Detroit Metro Airport is outside of Southfield, not in Detroit, and Houston Intercontinental Airport is in Houston, not in the countryside. A lot more residences on the ground here, and more damage could have been done by the falling debris. Allah's going to kick his cheapskate ass. But his stupidity works for me. No dead Americans, and he ended up with a bad case of burnt balls. So, as far as I am concerned, let al-Qaeda keep sending the dumbasses to do their dirty work. You know, that just might be all of them. After all, who in his right mind decides he wants to commit suicide for a few dozen raisins? LOL.

And there're prob'ly plenty of vacancies for people who have more on the ball. Why waste an engineer or whatnot on a suicide mission? I suspect without knowing that many of the candidates for known suicide mission are not the ones who have other, relevant uses to AQ.
