Nobel Committee asked to strip Obama of Peace Prize

IMO he should not have gotten it. It is ironic that he escalates the war in Afghanistan and then get the Nobel Peace Prize. He has done nothing to make the world a peaceful place, rather he has done the opposite and only made it more violent.

Do the right thing: Take away Obama's NPP

Does he deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

He didn't deserve it when he won it. Completely destroyed its value. I think, if Obama was honest, even he'd have said, "WTF????" Prolly did, laughing in his beer.

Given some of the past recieptitants I think the value of the Nobel Peace prise was destroyed before Obama got it, but yes he should not have gotten it either. He hadnt done anything at the time other then be elected

Rip it out of his hands and force truth into his life.

Is there any basis for taking away the prize after it has been awarded? Were there, Arafat is the first person it should be taken away from.

The ironic thing is, with all of this complaining about President Obama, he actually had to be kicking and screaming into this. He initially didn't want to do this. He was dragged into it my Sarkozy in France and to a lesser extent Cameron in the U.K.

Does he deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

Let's see...

Algore won it.
Jimmy Carter won it.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) won it.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) , Mohamed ElBaradei won it.
The United Nations (U.N.) , Kofi Annan won it.
Yasser Arafat won it.
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev won it.

So, an accomplished list of commi's, corrupt incompetents, general incompetents, terrorists, and dimwits have won it.

Absolutely he should keep it. It was premature, but it seems they predicted he would fit right in.

Do you think you are flattering our president by pointing out that he had to be drug kicking and screaming into this?? Really?

Plain scarey to think that could happen to the President of the United States. Plain scarey.

Wow...I don't agree with Luda on everything but I gotta give props to a guy who puts things in perspective. Personally, though, don't think it should have been awarded in the first place.

Here's a couple of people that actually deserved it, and gave it credit.

Nothing the human race ever created was perfect guys.

I would like it to mean something, though. Instead of letting all these assholes define what "peace" means through new-speak why dont we take his medal away and start establishing the true meaning of the word?

I don't seek to flatter anyone... I just seek to point out the truth... While I am conservative, I also try to recognize the reality of the situation... and that was the reality of the situation...

IMO, nobody drags the President kicking and screaming into anything. Are we already planning his defense? No offense, but that's what it sounds like.

I'd LOVE to see him stripped of the prize, and have to return the money he already donated to charity! Sweet poetic justice!

Well sure, it's be great if the Nobel Peace Prize meant something. Unfortunately it is a political tool, not an award. It has nothing to do with peace anymore, it is about who will move situations in the direction the world elite wants.

Peace to most world leaders means those they are oppressing stop squirming.

How about we strip him of the presidency and let him keep the peace prize?

Except I think Carter deserved it too... I know he does a lot of work with Mandela through The Elders.

I really like watching South African soccer games... The people go nuts, and it seems like they usually wave around something praising Mandela... so much pride. It's too bad he couldn't give a speech at the FIFA game. I guess Zuma was good enough... but I don't miss the horns..

They gave him an award knowing full well he clearly did nothing to deserve it and now they want to take it back? IN the eyes of many people this military action is helping people who are fighting a brutal dictator which is certainly more noble than doing nothing.

What absolute rubbish. The US did not attack Libya - it is enforcing a UN no-fly zone against the Gaddafi regime with France, Italy, and Britain. It is doing so because, as you may recall, the dictator was using aircraft to demolish entire Libyan cities for protesting against him. This is the reason for the UN no-fly zone. I understand that many people in dogmatic corners of the left can't tell the difference between peace and pacifism, but the reality is that the UN no-fly zone serves peace and helps protect people who are exercising their human rights. The President is doing what's right, as usual. It's not the Nobel Pacifism Prize, and as for Paulist Libertarians who resent even being reminded that the world outside our borders even exists, it certainly isn't the Nobel Isolationism Prize.
