Dutch-Based International Pedophile Ring Busted

As far as I know, none were in the USA but I sure am glad to hear about this. With the invention of the internet, child abuse has become more rampant. Something that used to be VERY "underground", child porn, is now something you can access with a few clicks of the mouse. How can someone do this to their own children?

Ugh, I'm very glad they got these guys. I just hope the kids can recover and lead normal lives.

Always happy to hear they caught the bastards. This is one crime that the guilty just about never reformed, and that is why I think California's 'Chelsea's Law' that increases penalties for sexual predators. should be the standard for all States and the Federal Law.

The website was in the Netherlands, but the investigation was triggered by UK police following up on the activities of two Brits in Spain.

" ...The global forum had 70,000 followers at its height, leading to 4,000 intelligence reports being sent to police across 30 countries.

The operation has so far identified 670 suspects and 230 abused children.

Detectives say 184 people have been arrested - 121 of them were in the UK. Some 60 children have been protected in the UK.

The three-year investigation, Operation Rescue, was led by investigators from the UK's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop).

Speaking at a news conference at The Hague in the Netherlands, investigators said the network hid behind a legal online forum which operated out of the country - but its members came from around the world.

Well, it doesn't help much but, according to the article, the website boy lover or whatever the hell it was was not a child porn distribution site. There was no actual porn on the site, so just because someone was a member doesn't mean they actually downloaded or sought out child porn. But ewww....icky either way, honestly.

Mind boggling in which way? 70,000 world wide is not a large number. The world's population is 6,775,235,741, so 70,000 is .001%
