Bill Maher tells Rep. Ellison the Quran is a ‘hate-filled holy book’ that inspires

Re: Bill Maher tells Rep. Ellison the Quran is a ‘hate-filled holy book’ that inspire

"On Friday, Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Maher told Ellison, who is a Muslim, that the Quran was a “hate-filled holy book” that inspired terrorism."

I would hope that discerning people would read the full story before they react to it, especially since Maher is a master baiter...

If it was up to me I'd fire Bill Maher too, I think he's a prick. But that's what he's hired for, shock value. This is right in line with his schtick, to mock and denegrate all religions. He does it very even handedly. He says noxious things about Islam and Christianity, and any other superstition.

He's constantly trying out new schticks just to gauge audience reaction, so anything he says or does shouldn't be taken seriously. Making it funny is the hardest part.

Juan Williams: "I get a little nervous when I see a Muslim on an airplane."

Bill Maher: "The Koran is a hate-filled holy book."

Yet, the outrage from the media was directed where?

Isn't the correct answer 'both'?

If you think so, God help you.

Where do you disagree? Holy books are not hatefilled?

Are you kidding or just lacking in mental acuity. The Koran is filled with hate.

What else do you call it when the Islamic Cultists are told they need to give infidels a chance to convert. and if they don't you can kill them?

What about stoning you wife if she accidentally shows some ankle?

Or the lovely part that allows them to break all the rules like drinking booze, whoring around, etc and if they just kill some infidels they are forgiven and get the 72 virgins.

Remind you of another holy book? Perhaps the one that says you die for wearing mixed fabrics?

After reading this thread I've realized, it's a good thing Republican xenophobes like Peter King are setting up the 2012 election to be about Muslims. Another term for Obama has been guaranteed.

Yeah right! Obama is a failed one termer.

Really? If we were to go by Republican rhetoric on Obama, McCain would be president right now. As I said, Republican xenophobia? It just guaranteed Obama another term. Peter King, who is a clear xenophobic piece of ****, is leading a McCarthyist style investigation on all Muslims and you think Democrats aren't watching him? You don't think for one second there aren't people recording every single sentence being used in those inquisition style trials that Peter King is holding? Haha, get ready to have a barrage of ads showing the Republican party for what it really is. This is just what I've been arguing for years regarding the Republican party's use of the Southern Strategy. Have fun with Obama till 2016.

Of course, all this will depend on if American voters will see things the way you do. I doubt that as many people will be as incensed at the hearing as you would hope, especially if more and more terrorist plots, like the Times Square bomber, are uncovered. In that case, the voters may be more pissed at the Dems for not being interested in understanding what motivates folks do these things.

You mean if the American public doesn't realize that the Peter King Show basically boils down to: "Prove to us that all Muslims aren't terrorists?" You're out of your mind. I guarantee you that there isn't a single Republican aid in Washington right now that isn't trying to find a way to distance their boss from King. Specially with 2012 just right around the corner.

Nice to see how tolerant liberals are. What a joke, if you don't agree with them, it's personal attacks and name calling. I'll still pray for you, you need it.

Yeah, yeah, last time you said I was "out of my mind" I completely proved that you were the one who didn't know what you were talking about. I'm beginning to see an inverse relationship between your actual knowledge and your bluster. The less you know, the more offensive you try to be, probably as a diversion from a topic you're clueless on.

Where? Are you still trying to prove that statutes don't need define reasonable suspicion? Somebody's being silly, I did show you.

You were so clueless you didn't even know what you were quoting. LOL. I showed you the actual DUI statute of the state you chose and challenged you to show me where it defines reasonable suspicion. *Still waiting, btw. I'm not sure what's funnier, that you're as blind as you are or that you believe everybody else is as well.

*Edit: in case you may have lost your way, here's a map back to that thread.

PLEASE! I am begging you. Actually debate instead of using constant ad hominem attacks against liberals. I have requested you do this before in other topics and you have ignored me...I really hope you listen.

Re: Bill Maher tells Rep. Ellison the Quran is a ‘hate-filled holy book’ that inspire

Prove it.
OK, go read a Qur'an. There are 109 ayat that deal with violence in the physical form. 106 of them have to do with using violence in self-defense. There are over 6,000 ayat in the Qur'an. Of course, you'll never read a Qur'an and just go off hearsay and what you hear from your crappy media.

Oh, well that must make it better....Oh wait, it isn't those who believe in the Bible out to take over the world right now is it?
That's because those who follow the Bible already think they control the world. Naturally, however, your deflection is obvious and only shows how incapable you are of engaging in an honest discussion.

Do I have to empirically know that the bowl with brown scoops in it that are warm and smelly is not ice cream, when you tell me it is? Or can I make that judgement before I put it to my lips?
This has to be the stupidest thing I have ever read on DebatePolitics. This is your analogy in terms of literary context (a concept you are apparently incapable of comprehending).

Sentence 1: The poster I am responding to is a genius.
Sentence 2: Everything I said before this was a lie.

If we only look at 'Sentence 1' WITHOUT CONTEXT (which is what you are suggesting to do), then it would mean you are a genius. However, if you look at both sentences WITHIN CONTEXT, you would find that you are clearly not a genius. This is such a simple concept, yet I sincerely doubt you will begin to grasp it.

What, wait, I think you have that backwards today it is radical Muslims in search of their caliphate that believe this....

I know you're new here (and Conservative no less ), but it was actually SgtRock who called for the immediate death of thousands/millions of people based solely on one factor of their life. Of course you feel the need to defend such bigoted statements.
