Several people were arrested for gun smuggling. Is it a little too late?

Ten people in southwestern New Mexico, including the village's mayor, police chief and a village trustee of Columbus were arrested Thursday on federal charges of smuggling approximately 200 weapons into Mexico.

One of the suspects, 24-year-old Ignacio Villalobos, is still at large. A Mexican national, 25-year-old Manuel Ortega was also apprehended.

I am all for gun ownership in the hands of citizens but never to the bad guys. The violence in Mexico is going to require direct intervention by our troops and it will be bloody and costly, but it is the only way.

We have the Drug Cartels on US soil more than is reported in the Obamedia. We have to fight fire with over whelming power and fire power.

I bet instead of the scum in office and media saying "hey lets use this opportunity push for and and enact better border security". They will try to use this as an opportunity to push for anti-2nd amendment legislation, as though somehow infringing on the 2nd amendment rights of Americans will stop people whose business is breaking the law.

The thread title is a little misleading. The story is out of El Paso, but the El Paso mayor has not been arrested.
