Damn skippy. Liberals have been saying this since the 2000 election. Back in the nineties, CNN used to be so great. When they investigated "Iraq-Gate" under Bush Sr.,
(how the U.S. sold Saddam weapons) they had new updates every hour, not simply repeating the same clips all day. Now all they do is spin away. Don't look at the truth hidden behind my back, look at this more palatable version of history/reality sanitized and censored for your viewing pleasure. Or, in Fox News case, video from another event all together, file footage from wherever we choose to pull it from.

"BEIJING (AFP) - An official Chinese newspaper has accused foreign journalists in the country of fabricating news in the latest sign of official nerves over an online campaign for anti-government rallies."

Amazing you could turn a story about Chinese state owned newspapers accusing foreign journalists of fabricating stories against liberals...

Well.

Rock on man.

By the way, Chinese government sucks :)

Some people want to be lied to, because they can't face the reality that the government and the media conspire against the common good and the common man.

Thankfully we have China to keep a watchful eye on any government/media conspiracies against the common good.

Where are those nukes Saddam had?

US media does fabricate news, but that's hardly news to Americans. Go just about anywhere in public with a TV screen and you're likely to see Fox News blaring the latest GOP talking point from above like Big Brother, or CNN giving a live demonstration of coverage that would get a journalism student flunked out of school. Chinese media is hardly the one to point fingers, but at least they acknowledge the state rules their coverage - ours pretends to be free when its content is dictated by oligarchs.

Shouldn't this be down in the humor section? Chinese media accusing others of fabricating news? LOL. That'd be like Cold War Era "Pravda" chastising the US Media.

We wouldn't need media matter and media watchdogs if the government wasn't lying to us all the time.

All the same liars in the media are many of the same liars of Iran Contra. The GOP.

Liberals chiming in with China in harmony.

Yep, sounds about right.

Carry on.

Yeah, we are all marxist terrorists.

Go watch the Beck brain drain, since you can't think on your own.

I failed to see exactly what stories were lies and exactly who was telling them.

I thought sure we'd hear about how MSNBC has had an organized campaign of lies and attacks but that somehow escaped notice in the responses so far.

I did see the usual attacks on Fox News also with any specifics.

Liberals love to make stuff up then they all swear to it blindly,an they love to back up the Communists when they can bash a Conservative along the way.

And because its China its automatically false?

Isn't that a logical fallacy?

American news is so bad it might as well just be fiction at this point.
Just replace the news channels with cartoons or something.

By saying this, it does not make the Chinese media wrong. However, it makes them look like a bunch of ****ing hypocrites, though.

I don't suppose any of you would care to supply us with an example of China media news lies from one of their sites, just for giggles?

So you are backing a state-run media outlet for exposing spin, but bashing a western media outlet for spinning?

Intriguing.

While I understand where the Chinese government is coming from (in a sense), I don't really think that they should be talking about who "fabricates" stories, seeing as how they have a state-run media (not much unlike the US).

Brainiac, which story was from a Media source? These items were reported in the Media but began life elsewhere.

Seems a Liberal playing gotcha got them self. Bid surprise. NOT!

Chinese first: Tiananmen Square mentioned in official newspaper - CSMonitor.com

I did a search on Tiennamen square because I figured that would be an easy one

Thanks.

My take of the article: Coming from the Christian Science Monitor, a paper that NEVER criticizes Israel, it may be accurate but i disagree with their bias against China.
Google and Yahoo, American companies, were both caught turning in Chinese dissidents who did nothing except write about their political beliefs. So, America is guilty of many of the same crimes it accuses China of. Namely unlawful detention and torture. It is worth noting in a thread about press freedom, that the Christian Science Monitor went bankrupt years ago and was purchased by people connected to US govmnnt agencies. It is a US govmnt outlet like Voice of America or Radio Free Europe.
