Wisconsin governor gives Democrats ultimatum

Hey Liberals get over it....you lost the dang election and there are consequenses to that. Governor Walker is doing exactly what he was elected to do by the majority of Wisconsin voters. Anyone who says that Walker doesnt represent the majority is full of crap. In fact, if he doesnt balance the budget he will be primaried & thrown out by the voters who put him there in the next election. Not many (if any) who are running around Madison whining, crying & throwing a hissy fit were original Walker voters. Most of us are at work during the day.

The goverment controlled Liberal/statist press can paint Walker as a real villian but he is doing exactly as the Wisconsin taxpayer wants. We in the private sector here in the last couple years almost all took paycuts, loss of benefits and many, there jobs altogether. In the same time frame property taxes kept going up. Somewhere the insanity has to end or we'll be losing our homes & the shirts off our backs as well.

Now that we have had our say at the polls and decided to throw out the big spenders & take away state workers Gold plated benefits (better than Federal) to help the state get out of debt, the sore losers have to split town. Apparently they think the taxpayer should keep footing the bill for there gravy train while the rest of us are sacrificing. Sorry it isnt happening!

Wisconsin democrats have to come back & vote to preserve the integrity of our system. If they dont then what keeps the Republicans from doing the same thing in the future? It will develop into anarchy & the system will collapse. If they want to change things back someday then they can do it electorally by putting Democrats in the Govenors house, assembly & Senate then change it back democratically, not walking around the capitol yelling obscenities and acting like thugs, although I'm sure some of them were behaved.

They may not directly choose whom it is in any particular negotiation, but you can not deny that the relationship between Unions like the SEIU and democrat election campaigns is not right, and if the repubs had say one of their special intrests groups liberals would be the first to bludgen us over the head about that. Now all the sudden we should turn our heads to this kind of relationship? I don't think so.

FDR didn't like collective barganing for government employees, and I don't either.

Teachers negotiate with school boards. Unions contribute to favored school board candidates in the form of canvassing and $$. Incestuous.

From a former Wisconsin school board member:

The frustrating part of this is the taxpayer’s negotiator, the school board member, is beholden to the union by, in most cases, campaign donations and endorsements. A review of the last decade of school board candidates that have successfully been elected or re-elected, have been endorsed by the teacher’s union and have received financial contributions nine of ten times.

I don't think the problem could be any more clear.

What makes you think they're not? Frankly, what a great statement that'd be.

To my knowledge they aren't on the chopping block...

$124,398 is the average salary earned by U.S. governors in 2007
A list of 2007 gubernatorial salaries compiled by the Council of State Governments shows the largest at $206,500 in California, though the governor doesn’t accept it, and the smallest at $70,000 in Maine

The highest paid Governor is running the state in the worst financial state... and the lowest paid Governor makes 70,000, and that's pretty good considering that isn't my opinion of lower middle class.

Govs' salaries range from $1 to $206,500

They make too much money in my opinion... and they get excellent benefits and tax payer funded healthcare to boot.

It should be up for debate... but I don't trust any of them to slash their own benefits for the taxpayers.

And the perks? All governors get mansions paid for by the taxpayers. Here in Texas, Governor Perry has his own private wine cellar in his Gubernatorial mansion.

So here's the deal. Knock down the unions, and at the same time, make the governors pay rent, and buy their own damn wine.

They get a mansion here too... and they get taxpayer funded "business travel" not like that sh*t is ever abused.

Is the AFL -CIO still effective? according to some, the leading union organizations haven't been doing their job. Just the opposite, the unions continue to make demands and trade off the benefits and wages ...

"He is also demanding the ending of any form of collective bargaining, even in the ineffectual and cowardly form in which it is practiced by the existing trade unions. For Walker—and the sections of the capitalist class for which he speaks—the central target is not simply the trade unions. His real aim is to wipe out any form or possibility of organized resistance by the working class to the dictates of the financial-corporate oligarchy and the capitalist state."

"The response to this attack by the trade union organizations in Wisconsin and nationally—AFSCME, the NEA and the AFL-CIO—is cowardly, duplicitous and politically bankrupt. From the outset, they act as if there is no connection between Walker’s assault on the organizational interests of the union—such as his demand for the elimination of collective bargaining and the end of the automatic dues check off—and the attack on the wages"

http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter...rald-wisconsin-legislaors-would-have-give-sa/

In short, Fitzgerald said the legislators who will vote on Walker's bill would have to give up the same amount of pay. Aside from the collective bargaining issues, Walker's plan would make state employees pay more for health and pension benefits. And according to the bill, elected officials would take the same hits. We rate Fitzgerald's claim True.

The sections of the Capitalist class? As far as I can see the vast majority of citizens here participate in capitalism & like it. The public sector employees are only a small priviliged and pampered class with Gold & Platinum Benefit plans.

—the central target is not simply the trade unions. His real aim is to wipe out any form or possibility of organized resistance by the working class to the dictates of the financial-corporate oligarchy and the capitalist state."
 Stated like a true Marxist.

Please explain how cutting back on a Platinum (State) benefit plan to that of a Gold plated (federal) then saying we're (the working class taxpayers) trying to wipe out Unions? Hardly, the unions will still be there & if they want there gravy train back they can vote Dems in next time, after all you Liberals claim the majority backs these workers. Why dont you show us at the polls next time there is an election because somehow we dont believe you, after all we just had an election that we in the capitalist workers party decided you in the public elitist sector had to share in the pain of the recession as well.

in bold - This is the part I really think bothers the unions. Right now, and for eternity the Government withheld the dues in the paycheck. Now the members will see for themselves what comes out, and they will have to "write" a check, physically picking up a pen, or typing in the amount in their online account and clicking send.. History has shown us for a long time that when people have the power and control of their own money, they begin to prioritize how it's spent. :)

I think this more than anything scare the living chit out of the unions boss's.. :)

Is it not amazing that so many are so dumb that they think you can spned your way out of debt and ignore reality.

Liberals have a way of pretending their fantasy world is real as they ax and spend us into the toilet then blame conservatives for their ignorance.\

Unions have got to go.

Nah, I don't think you need a union to be free....Do you?

They will not be free to have the union negotiate on their behalf(sp) the amount of compensatation they receive. Due to a government law, big daddy government the thing conservatives are supposed to dislike

yes, what has become amazingly clear to me is your opposition to democratic elections
you fear what elected officals will do once in office

Not at all. I fear what bought-and-PAID-for elected officials will do once in office without proper checks and balances.

Me too. This is why I wish we would restrict political campaigns to only accepting public funds. The legal bribery known as campaign donations is a huge problem in this country.

Politicians should be serving the people, not entrenched financial interests (of any political stripe)

Walker is offering the Dems a deal they can't refuse. And, in other news, Sarah Palin just flew in and offered them a deal she couldn't understand.

Funny I thought it said the governor gives ultimatum ,not offers deal.

Sarah Palin "ummm, wait a minute, the name sounds familiar" oh yeah wasn't she governor of Alaska till she quit?

How can unions trade off benifits and wages on jobs by cheap foriegn labor?

So Governors make demands now huh?
I thought they had to pass laws before they could do that.

Unions have got to go.

Uh check your history
In 1999 we America had a surplus not much but a surplus.
In 2000 the Republicans took control in 2008 after the Republicans left America was 3 trillion dollars in debt.
Just in case you don't know the differance between fantasy and reality.

Surplus have money
Debt owe money.

I have a question, you say you want proper checks and balances so do I.

Are these checks and balances for the upper class, middle class, or all American people?

Wether they be liberal or conservitive, independant, union or non union top or bottom??

Excerpted from “On the road with Gov. Jerry Brown (VIDEO): Flying solo on Southwest Airlines -- peanuts, no entourage” Posted By: Carla Marinucci, “Politics Blog,” San Francisco Chronicle, February 10 2011 at 12:35 PM
Passengers did a double take on Southwest flight 896 from Sacramento to Burbank today, seeing Gov. Jerry Brown sitting among them -- and flying completely solo -- for his first official gubernatorial road trip to Los Angles Thursday.

And the Democratic governor was very much in budget-cutting mode, sitting in an everyman's seat (he didn't want to pay the $16 extra for Southwest's "business select" seating), no press aides, no entourage, no security -- not even his chief adviser, wife Anne Gust Brown.

Gov. Brown is leading by example these days.

It makes no difference whether it's to advance liberal or conservative agendas. I don't get your point.

My lady, my point is simple the advacement of which you speak should be the American people all the American people.

It is the politicians job wether president or governor to serve the American people, all the American people is it not?

If he chooses just to serve just the elite WELL?
If he just serve just the poor WELL
If he just wants to popular with a certain group and not the other. WELL?

Ha! You've just indicted 14 Democrats hiding out in Grayslake, Illinois. They are hiding out why? To support public-sector employees who make up, perhaps 5% of their constituents. At the expensive of the other 95%. What don't you get about that? How could you even type that last line with a straight face?

I just LOVE how democrats are making it look like the evil corporations are out to destroy the middle class. HA!!! Its the freakin UNIONS that are part of the problem erroding the middle class by sucking up the TAX PAYERS money! The unions are hurting everyone!
Hey I dont even know upper middle management that has such sweet deals as 100% paid health care.... HUGE pensions.... and a salary that is 2x what they should be getting!!!! PLUS...... PLUUUUUS teachers get 3 months off and its in the summer!!! And its not like good teachers are hard to find either. Heck I would say 2 out of 10 parents would make excellent teachers.

DESTROY STATE UNIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :soap:soap:soap
