BREAKING NEWS: 4 Americans Abducted by Somali Pirates Have Been Killed

There is a difference between seeking to understand why they do what they do and supporting them

You clearly have blurred the line but don't try to link Piracy to the likes of Al Qaeda.

The Somali pirates and al Qaeda are cut from the same cloth. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Al Qaeda:
Extremists Muslim
Religious
Stone people
Cut people heads off
Ridiculously sexist

Somali Pirates:
Have prostitutes
Drink alcohol
Have sex and marry multiple times
Fed by greed
Do drugs ....
Are addicted to drugs
Despise the religious Muslims (Al Shabab)
Fight Al Shabab (Al Qaeda's ideological cousins)

In any other circumstances the Pirates would be US's ally in stopping the spread of Islamists in East Africa

So ...Not quite .... try again.

Wrong. The Somalis are common criminals that are just doing it for the money. Al Qaeda is doing it for some irrational belief in an imaginary God.

Seems like he is trying to lump every bad guy into Al Qaeda.

Well they are Muslim so you know ... they must be connected to Al Qaeda in some way
:doh

I'm not the one that brought AQ into this. Laila drug their tired asses into this argument in an attempt to make the scumbag pirates look good, but I'm not seeing any difference between the two, aside from their motivation and the jury is still out on that, as well.

Nope. It was bought in when you tried linking my support of some Piracy to supporting terrorists.

Don't twist it
Ofc you can't tell the difference, I doubt you could tell the difference between a terrorist and a criminal.

That's right and you mentioned AQ. Not I.

So Al Qaeda isn't a terrorist group? News to me.

So then fill in the blank terrorist with whatever group you want. Same argument.

What is a Somalian?

A person from Somalia.

Here are some links to further your knowldege of the area.

And of course when they leave Somalia they often take their culture with them.

You mean when they overthrew a Government the population supported and who bought peace to the land because the Islamists did not match their ambitions in the region and funded warlords to stay in power?

They? Their?

You mean the air strikes Bush supported in Somalia?

Yes, that's the one!!!

BBC NEWS | Africa | US Somali air strikes 'kill many'

They obviously didn't get the job done.
You mean when US gave money and weapons to Ethiopia to kill Somalis with and sparked an insurgency and led to the rebirth of Al Shabab as Al Qaeda's ideological cousins?

Which one?

This one.

USAID Africa: Somalia

Yes, They are called Al Shabab.

Not Pirates. Who Al Shabab despises and wants to kill.

More power to them. I hope they all kill each other.

Nice deflection. We all know that you condone Islamic terrorism, the same way you condone Somali piracy.

Motivation is everything.

No I don't.

And they won't kill each other. One will emerge the winner

This one.

I meant more this one:

U.S. support key to Ethiopia's invasion - USATODAY.com
The United States has quietly poured weapons and military advisers into Ethiopia, whose recent invasion of Somalia opened a new front in the Bush administration's war on terrorism.

A Christian-led nation in sub-Saharan Africa, surrounded almost entirely by Muslim states, Ethiopia has received nearly $20 million in U.S. military aid since late 2002. That's more than any country in the region except Djibouti.

Last month, thousands of Ethiopian troops invaded neighboring Somalia and helped overturn a fundamentalist Islamic government that the Bush administration said was supported by al-Qaeda.

Guess what the response was?!
Ah yes, you guessed it.

Call for jihad as Ethiopian troops go into Somalia - Telegraph
Radical Muslims controlling much of southern Somalia yesterday declared jihad, or holy war, on Ethiopia after accusing its troops of capturing a town taken by the fundamentalists last month.

Which then eventually led to ....
There have been celebrations in the Somalia capital Mogadishu after Ethiopian troops withdrew from their two main bases in the city.

BBC NEWS | Africa | Somali joy as Ethiopians withdraw

I am referring to the Bush Administration's intervention in Somalia in the name of the War on Terror. It has helped to destroy that wretched country's best chance of peace in a generation, left more than a million Somalis dead, homeless or starving, and achieved the precise opposite of its original goal. Far from stamping out an Islamic militancy that scarcely existed, the intervention has turned Somalia into a breeding ground for Islamic extremists and given al-Qaeda a valuable foothold in the Horn of Africa.

Rewind to the early summer of 2006. For 15 years, since the fall of the dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, feuding warlords had made Somalia a byword for anarchy and terrorism - the archetypal failed state. A tenth of its population had been killed. A million had fled abroad. At that point the warlords were finally routed, despite covert CIA backing, by a remarkable public uprising in support of the so-called Islamic Courts movement that promised to end the lawlessness.

How the War on Terror pushed Somalia into the arms of al-Qaeda | Martin Fletcher - Times Online
And now look!
Al Shabab which was dominated by moderates who reigned in it's extremists side was given free reign to take control because a foreign country was occupying it's country and NOW it has Al Qaeda links and controls the majority of the South.

Well done US. Another job well done.
Really.
Where would we be without your guiding hand leading us to the promised land

Al-Shabab and Al-Qaeda: Playing Americans for suckers | Non-Intervention.com

The suicide bombing in Uganda’s capital of Kampala by the Somali Islamist group al-Shabab serves several agendas. While the facile and clueless Western media call it an “anti-World Cup attack” and the lame Obama White House says it proves al-Qaeda’s “racism” toward Africans, the reality is that from al-Sahbab’s perspective the attack is a logical and necessary response to the prolonged U.S.- and Western-backed intervention in Somalia. (How long, one wonders, will it take U.S. and Western officials to learn people don’t like being occupied?) The Kampala attack also is another episode in al-Qaeda’s ongoing campaign to lure the United States into more interventions in the Muslim world.

At the most basic level, there would be no al-Shabab in Somalia — at least not at its present strength, reach, and popularity — if Washington had not panicked several years ago at the thought of an Islamist organization known as the “Islamic Courts” taking power in Somalia. The Islamic Courts’ had all but displaced a feckless, corruption-ridden UN-backed Transitional Federal Government (TFG), and was beginning to bring a harsh but effective law-and-order system to Somalia for the first time in decades. Under President Bush, however, Washington could not stand the thought of a working Islamic government and so labored overtly and covertly for its demise.

US can be played so damn easy it's almost cringing to observe. It's paranoia has not served it well.

How so?...............

If someone commits a crime for money he's a criminal.
If he is motivated by religious beliefs to commit a crime he is a terrorist.

Heads and tails, my friend.

I believe everyone well understands that you condone murder, if you agree with the murders taking place. i.e. Somali piracy, Islamist terrorism, etc.

Page 5, she didn't. I wonder why 12 pages later you're still beating a dead horse.

By that same logic, it would be ok for the United States to launch airstrikes against targets in Somalia. But, I bet someone wouldn't agree.

What would you target?

Let's be sure to give the Somalian pirates any benefit of the doubt.

You going to put false words into my mouth on this part of the forum too?

She's said it numerous times on this forum.

Show us? That'd be nice. Instead of making baseless claims like your usually do.
