There is no such thing as "Somalia's Government".
I honestly couldn't care less for your opinion on Somalia's government. Even if it lies in anarchy and has no government the same rules apply. If American citizens can not be safely travelling in those waters, the US military should step in and provide the necessary security by establishing deterrence and by escorting civilians with armed security.
Sure there is another option.
I have been saying military option will do nothing.
But if you so badly want a Military option. I'll give you one:
US blows up any ship that enters/leaves Somali waters. Done.
I fixed piracy. Oh and in before the outrage by the rest of the world when Asian and European boats get blown up
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
You've offered an absurdly wrong military solution to the subject and then explained why it's absurdly wrong. It's not mine, it's yours.
Infact when NATO invited Somali Elders on board. They asked the Elders for help to eradicate Piracy on land but refused to do anything about the illegal fishing and dumping saying it weren't in their jurisdiction.
The Somalis can take it to the UN, not to NATO. NATO is a military force, not a court of justice.
NATO has the responsibility to allow its member states' civilians a safe passage in the area, and that means to counter piracy.
