This might play into the Governors hands and give just cause to fire a bunch of teachers for submitting false excuses for unauthorized absenteeism.

I would LMAO if this happened.

'Fake' Sick Notes Given to Wisconsin Protesters Amid Anti-Union Bill Faceoff - FoxNews.com

As thousands of protesters on both sides of an epic budget standoff in Wisconsin faced off Saturday at the Capitol, alleged doctors were handing out 'fake' sick notes to protesters -- allowing them to call in sick while the budget impasse continues.

Protesters told Fox News they obtained the notes from alleged doctors standing on street corners handing them out to whomever asked. The protesters said doctors did not examine or inquire about their current health condition before passing the notes out.

Fraud is always welcome at the Democrat table.........

....hard to imagine what would happen if it was Republican's writing fake doctor notes, pulling our children out of school for union slob protests, shutting down schools in the name of Union slobbery, or fleeing a state in order to obstruct the wishes of the people.

Maybe it is a republican writing the fake notes and getting it on video. What better way to discredit the teachers? It's pure genius.

Now your talking like me. However my first reaction to your post is that it would be way too risky to do because it is just the type of devious idea the Democrats are famous for.

I just checked the headlines on the MSNBC site and saw no mention of the fake Doctors notes.

When I was an employer this was an offense worthy of termination for cause, which means no unemployment benefits.

That was a nonunion business and I am not really versed on what the Teachers Union Contrasts might contain.

Somebody here who advocates for the firing of the teachers should back up their contention by finding the contract language and quoting it. Otherwise, its just a bunch of nothing being repeated over and over and over in thread after thread after thread.

I will help you... here is the Milwaukee contract

http://www.nctq.org/docs/48-08.pdf

the provision on use of sick bank is on page 64 and continues. Basically, after three consecutive days of using sick days, the administrator can ask for a doctors note.

This is very interesting. Look at who is funding this story, and look how conveniently doctors are handing out notes, when it is something they could lose their licenses over, and they allow EVERYBODY to see them doing it? This story is very, very fishy.

Does anyone know how many notes were handed out or if anyone actually accepted them?

Getting your union disbanded by the Governor would be classified as union business. I don't know if they can get fired for particpating.

What is with the conservative hatred for teachers?

Fake notes? How can they be 'fake' if a licensed physician gave a person a note stating that so-and-so was seen by me on a certain date? Who decided they were 'fake'? Did a licensed physician examine that person immediately afterward and decided - in their opinion - that that person was not sick? If they did, how would their opinion trump the original physician's diagnosis? The only way they can be 'fake' is if the physician was NOT a licensed physician.

Or, are the cons now deciding that it's OK for someone to get between a patient and their physician?

Good question. They have clearly gone off the deepend. On another thread, one conservative said that teachers make "superstar salaries". Wow. On this thread we have them being called slobs.

Or if the physician lied about the diagnosis.

Doctors screw over insurance companies and medicare all the time.

No, the OP clearly identifies the topic as the defrauding of employers by teachers.

Why is it that we have thread after thread all about this same topic? In each thread some conservative anti-unionist puts forth the allegation that the average Wisconsin teacher makes over a $100K per year in salary and benefits. Then that is thoroughly and utterly discredited and disproven with independent and authoritative and verifiable evidence. Then we get this silliness about phony doctors with sick notes. And then is thoroughly discredited as well. And the 'source' for both of these falsehoods is the same one - the far right MacIlister Institute.

And then they simply start another thread on the same topic and its Groundhog Day all over again.

from One Wisconsin

Be warned: The MacIver Institute is a not a news service. It is not a member of the traditional media. It is a right wing educational “charitable” organization and it is gathering footage to advance its conservative, anti-worker agenda.

Talking to the MacIver Institute is abetting the conservative movement in its efforts to ensure progressive values and issues are not a part of the public policy debate. MacIver has spent considerable time criticizing the 2009-11 state budget, the Recovery Act, reforming the health insurance industry and stopping global climate change.

MacIver is financed and run by leading conservatives, many with long ties to the Republican Party. Speaking on camera with the MacIver Institute helps the conservative movement by giving legitimacy to its faux “reporting,” as its “interviews” are regularly posted on the MacIver website.

WHO IS THE MACIVER INSTITUTE
The MacIver Institute is a conservative, pro-corporate organization founded in 2009 to advance conservative ideas and values. Its top staff is long-time Republican campaign strategists and its board of directors includes leading Republicans, most notably Mark Block, the head of Americans for Prosperity-WI, Fred Lubar, deep-pocketed Republican donor and Jim Troupis, lawyer to leading Republicans such as Assembly Speaker Scott Jensen and ethically-challenged Supreme Court Justices Mike Gableman and Annette Ziegler.

Staff: MacIver’s top staffers include both the former Chief of Staff to Scott Jensen and former GOP state senate caucus head and campaign strategist for top Republicans including Attorney General JB Van Hollen.

Jensen Ties: Initially, MacIver attempted to distance itself from Jensen, stating through a spokesperson that the former Assembly Speaker has no “formal role” with the organization. An investigation by Eye On Wisconsin's Cory Liebmann revealed that the properties of several initial communications from MacIver included the electronic imprint of Scott Jensen. Milwaukee Magazine also talked with Jensen about his involvement and after a preliminary denial, the reporter wrote “Later, Jensen amended that he is a consultant and his ‘main client’ is Alliance for School Choices.” [Milwaukee Magazine.com, 3/10/09]

MACIVER METHODS
MacIver has begun dispatching a new staffer, former Rock County television reporter Bill Osmulski, to events to film events and create conservative propaganda pieces as “news reports.” These “reports” are put onto the MacIver website and available for public consumption.

ISSUE TARGETS
MacIver hews to the standard conservative lines and its talking points are echoed in the arguments of the state’s leading Republican elected officials. It has referred to the 2009-11 state budget as “$12.8 billion of bad” and “driven by politics and devoid of principle,” has called health insurance reforms at the federal level “budget busting” and has criticized cap and trade. Its top target though, has been the federal Recovery Act and the use of those funds by the state legislature. In repeated postings on its website, MacIver attempts to make the case the legislature and the federal government failed in efforts to solve the economic crisis created by the failed policies of the Bush administration and that the legislature and federal government have failed to create much-needed jobs. [MacIver Institute Website]

CREDIBILITY
Immediately after it hired its phony news “reporter,” MacIver was plunged into controversy when it was confirmed the MacIver staffer had gotten an interview with two elected officials by allowing the two elected officials “to think he was just interviewing the two politicians for a local television station, all three men confirmed...” [Wisconsin State Journal, 9/5/09]

CONSIDERATIONS
One Wisconsin Now supports healthy and vibrant public policy discussions and this rightfully requires public officials to regularly talk with the media. This does not apply to the MacIver Institute, an ideologically-driven organization, created to advance a policy agenda, in this case an ultra-conservative one.

The good news is MacIver can only film and put on its website what an individual says on camera. Any progressive who suddenly finds a MacIver camera thrust in his or her face should consider responding with a smiling response of “I am not interested in speaking with Scott Jensen’s right wing think tank.” As MacIver has been less-than-forthright about Jensen’s potential involvement in its operation, it would be interesting to see if they would post this video on their website.

Actually I put one in for all you lefties ;)Thousands of protesters surround Wis. Capitol - U.S. news - Life - msnbc.com

Also if your going to generalize us all....get things straight...we dont believe they are phony doctors. But we do believe they are giving out notes with FAKE excuses on them.

Also I am actually tired of all the threads being posted on 1 subject. It too hard to keep up with.

The key word in your post is the key ingredient in almost all far right views....... BELIEVE. You believe what you want to believe because you have made a choice to believe what you want to believe.

Belief is suppose to be a very important ingredient of religion. Not so much in politics. This is a perfect illustration of the basic flaw in right wing 'thinking'.

Well I could just say I know. But I am not in WI. All I can go on is what all the media outlets are telling me. Not just our right wing news such as FOX. Also on the thought of belief...Maybe more people should start believing in something instead of thinking they KNOW IT ALL...might help this country out a bit.
