The knife-wielding madman who killed four people during a day-long rampage of stabbings, carjackings and hit-and-runs was nabbed in Times Square moments after he knifed a straphanger.

"They had to die," Maksim Gelman, 23, confessed after being tackled by two transit cops and an off-duty detective about 9 a.m. yesterday, sources said.

His arrest ended a one-man wave of breathless violence that spanned nearly 28 hours and two boroughs, fueled by rage at ex-flame and murder victim Yelena Bulchenko.

What can we learn from this? Is that a kill crazy madman can be just as deadly with, or without a handgun......


How is this possible in one of the most restrictive cities in the country?


Will Bloomberg ban all food that needs a knife to cut?

Having legally carried a concealed weapon for years I can tell you that if any of the people I know who also carry guns had run into thi guy there would be no need to ask any questions or worry about a trial.

What this and every event like it such as the AZ shootings screams at me is citizens who are trained who carry weapons can put a sure and swift end to all this type of craziness. That is why the gun grabbers are part of the problem and taking my guns is not.

Amazing, this person is as successful as the AZ shooter, but the usual suspects are no where to be seen.

Its still early in the day. Although they may try to argue "but if he had a gun he may have shot more people" or "if it was so easy to get guns illegally then why didn't he get a gun?"
