Congressman Chris Lee Resigns After Shirtless Photo Posted on Internet

it wasn't republicans who argued in circuit that gay marriage is analagous to incest and sex with pubescents
I cant even be bothered atm to dig up the links. Everyone knows republicans have done exactly this. I remember seeing O'reilly make the same argument along with many right wing christians. lol I just did a quick google search and saw many blogs aligned with the "religious right". It's the same types that claim it doesn't happen in nature. Must be the type of people that turn their heads if they see 2 male dogs humping and of course the same that ignore observed science of many other species...

Once again the party of 'family values' proves they are no better than anyone else.

Congressman Chris Lee Resigns After Shirtless Photo Posted on Internet - ABC News

What does this have to do with the GOP? Have you ever spent a meaningful length of time with a politician before? I have with several. They are smooth talking manipulators who are really good at people pleasing and getting their way. Extramarital affairs are common. They still gotta play house, have a wife and kids, so their voters know that they really are just decent human beings. But when no one's looking, the window dressing comes down.

Not all of them mind you, but a lot. People in power have the same kind of psyche profile usually. Their whole lives they relentlessly pursued leadership in groups because they did not like the way things were or being controlled by others, and they used many means at their disposal to get their. These kinds of people also tend to be promiscuous because it is also an aspect of power. I'm serious... look up the general psyche profile of politicians. There is a good book on it called "Leaders and Their Followers in a Dangerous World: The Psychology of Political Behavior".

Meh, I say the wrath he is going to endure from his Wife is more than what his constituents are gonna give him.

Yeah. I hope she divorce his sorry ugly behind! He is pitiful as guess he thought he was being all slick and cute. He is not hot and a sorry excuse of a man. I would almost bet more females come forward as he a straight out cheater and loser.

I had to laugh cause he thought he was looking all good in that pic and got his ugly inside and outside ass flat out busted.

I feel for his wife and hope she drops his sorry ass.

He didn't do anything illegal, so why did he resign?

Cause his sorry ass stone cold busted and no telling what may come out about him. Or he trying to make his wife feel sorry for him and is all like "I resigned so we can work on our marriage" and lame lie crap like that.

This loser is selfish so there is a reason for it all and it may or may not come out. His resignation speaks volumes to me: as in this jerk knows he busted and more to come.

everyone knows?

billo argued in circuit?

comparing gay marriage to incest and sex with pubescents?

LOL!

I seriously doubt O'Reilly ever made a statement close to what he claims. O'Reilly is a libertarian.

fine, but that's really hillary's call, dontcha think

perhaps she thinks it's best for her career to remain married to the "president of the world"

Despite the partisan hackery in this thread. This guy is from my district, and frankly I don't care how or why he resigned, I'm just glad this RINO is gone.

Tim-

He resigned in less than 3 hrs. That's a record even for Republicans. Too bad Dems don't do the same when they screw up. We have to just keep putting up with their sorry asses.

are you EVER non partisan?

LOL!

even the prof doesn't know chris lee

meanwhile, educated children know charlie rangel, third longest server, longtime ways and means, most powerful chair outside the white house...

and note where's mr lee today?

gone

where's charlie?

hey, we're all sinners

having and promoting values doesn't make anyone more of a saint than any other atheist/agnostic

we're all just tryin to get along, y'know

try not to be so judgemental

bare chested, huh?
pssst...this isnt about charlie.....

Well, he sure as hell is not a conservative.

Totally agree. He may be an independent (not the good kind) but the one who favors the side that will benefit him most at the time.

are you EVER non partisan?

Not often on DP. When I feel like being non partisan, I talk to people in real life.

DP allows my partisan side to bloom in all it's glory. :)

I don't know the guy. Was he really a Rino? If so, I hope he doesn't let the door hit him in the butt.

Oh so apparently family values aren't as important as we've been led to believe and hetero marriage isn't actually sacred. I see...

Where did you read that into it?
It's not to dismiss family values, it's the Left's typical attempt to attempt to taint a party or philosophy with one sinner... that was my point.

People make mistakes... people sin... they always have and always will. The question is to what standards do we try and live our lives? Do we abandon standards as the left has? No... but when someone pulls the idiot lever, don't try and paint the entire philosophy with it... as Libs try to do to make themselves feel better about their debased existences. :)

I wondered who would turn this into a bad liberal thing.

True it should have happened earlier given the bad conservatives thing the op started in on.

For the record, I have no clue why he resigned. This is really no one's business but him and his family. I don't mind republicans resigning, but I don't think it was needed unless there is some law broken I don't know about.

Embarrassment, that **** was creeeeepy....

funny, the only people I have heard claim that the GOP is the party of family values, in about the last 10-15 years, is liberals who want to use that as a tool to bash republicans.

when is the last time YOU heard anyone from the GOP claim to be the party of family values?

This reminds me of AA meetings.
When someone falls off the wagon, we don't throw up our hands and say AA doesn't work! Instead we are ever more vigilant so we don't make the same mistake. Hopefully Lee will get back on the right track the same as we hope the alcoholic finds his way again.
Some liberals seem to think that it is not even worth the effort to try and live a life with standards. And that a failure to do so is proof that you shouldn't bother trying.

Hey Rev, let me quote for you from this very thread:

Every one has been a hypocrite as some point. It's best not to throw those type words around. What he did was not a crime, was not any of our business and had no effect on his ability to do his job.

Pointing out the bad liberal thing was because this story had exactly nothing whatsoever to do with liberals and yet some still used it to attack.

Actually, it's not about corruption either. There is no corruption here. You are just doing your usual make random complaints in threads that have nothing to do with what is actually being talked about.
