Congressman Chris Lee Resigns After Shirtless Photo Posted on Internet

Yep I disagree with Obama on many topics

few care about what topics you agree with or disagree with obama on, the world is not your mom

But at least he's only just a bit better than neo-cons when it comes to liberty

neocons?

LOL!

what's doma have to do with foreign policy?

That's Obama pandering to your intrusive, oppressive ilk.

you have no idea what ilk i belong or don't belong to

You're liberty-hating, dogmatic, republican voters have to be coddled.

you mean the possessive "your"

"you're" is contraction for "you are"

How dishonest you are sir.

Here, a married man, does something disreputable, gets caught and immediately resigns. Why did he resign? BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WAS GONNA GET THE BOOT.

So this proves your laughable line to be without merit.

So why didn't Vitter get the boot? Do you get a free "get out of forced GOP resignation card" for having sex with hookers?

"Get the boot" for cheating on his wife? If it were that easy to get rid of Congressmen, the House and Senate would be empty.

I suspect that you are pretty accurate, unfortunately.

I wondered who would turn this into a bad liberal thing.

For the record, I have no clue why he resigned. This is really no one's business but him and his family. I don't mind republicans resigning, but I don't think it was needed unless there is some law broken I don't know about.

To bad you didn't wonder who would turn this into a bad conservative thing.

You could have found it in the top of the thread.

Why did he resign? Don't care, he did what he should do, he manned up and did the right thing, he didn't make excuses, he saved his party from taking steps to get rid of him. That alone makes him more of a man, then far to many in public office.

The very first sentence in this thread was..

Once again the party of 'family values' proves they are no better than anyone else.

Do you just sit there and take it when someone bashes your side?
I find it very sad when my party of "family values" sins. However, we are all sinners and at least my side tries to do the right thing.
Dems don't even try, so any perverted or corrupt thing they do is just another day in the life of a Dem.

I agree with you...however, sending pictures (shirtless, no less) to a woman from Craig's list certainly makes one question his judgment and his worthiness of representing a district of his peers...

And, yes, you could say that about any affair...but this one kinda crosses into a special territory of foolishness.

This shows you how arrogant and brash some of our congress critters are. It's obvious many consider themselves above the law. However this one is a lot stupider and brash than most of them.

He resigned in less than 3 hrs. That's a record even for Republicans. Too bad Dems don't do the same when they screw up. We have to just keep putting up with their sorry asses.

There's democrats caught in scandals that did resign and there's republicans caught in scandals that didn't. You're acting just like some liberal trying to turn this into a partisan thing. Idiots are on both sides. To act as though only republicans are forced to resign after stuff like this is just plain silly and you know it.

He didn't do anything illegal, so why did he resign?

My guess is because he felt shame. Maybe he didn't want to put his wife through all the garbage he's seen happen before when a politician cheats.

You consider it an insult to dare to say that your side of the isle is just like everyone else? That's not an insult, it's fact. Republicans can't keep their private parts to themselves any better than democrats can and vice-versa.

Yeah he's really someone to look up to. What a hero! I'll bet his wife thinks so too!

Conservatives have some kind of a victim mentality at the moment. They'll get over it.

Has Charlie Rangle resigned, yet?

A local Indiana repub congressman (Souder) blamed D.C. for his affair and said he wasn't going to put his family through the press scrutiny, so he resigned. If that isn't a victim mentality I don't know what is.

BTW he was another one of those family values hypocrites while he was banging his staffer.

Worst than his chasing skirt was his lack of common sense.

You are a congressman and you place a picture of yourself with your real name online, holy crap. It was only a matter of time before someone recognized him.
Now, none of this is illegal but this moron did the Republican Party a big favor exiting quickly. You have to give him credit there.

Unlike the moron out here in Idaho Larry Craig who got caught in the men's public restroom and denied it all claiming he was just picking up filthy toilet paper off the floor with his bare hands.

Has Charlie Rangle resigned, yet?

Do you honestly think that coming up with 1 stupid democrat that hasn't resigned means that my point that this shouldn't be portrayed in a partisan light is incorrect?

Debating isn't solely about trying to make little jabs at the other side while saying little to nothing of substance. I could give a **** less about Charlie Rangle. I think he should be kicked out of office and thrown in jail. Not everyone is as partisan as you.

Absolutely I find it insulting. Family values is one thing that attracts me to conservatives.

I don't know how conservative Lee is (not familiar with him) but it still saddens me he would do that to his wife.

Even Charlie didn't scum as low as to advertise his man meat looking for some women meat while being married. That's takes a special kind of white trash.

Did you ever address the OP?

Yeah, he only broke the law. Big difference between breaking the law and ****ing around on one's wife. The latter is worse, according to you, even though it's not illegal.

Are you serious? You find it insulting for someone to compare conservatives to ordinary people? You honestly think that conservatives are better than everyone else and more moral than everyone else simply cause you agree with their tax policy?

Ah...

Rangel is a crook, you don't get to say who's more or less scummy.
