It's goning to get ugly in Eqypt!

Be careful what you wish for.

We back these people, b/c the alternative to them is far worse.

As we will soon see in Egypt.

Welcome to Iran 1979 part 2.

Islamic fundamentalism is at the Egyptian doorstep. And your gonna cheer it on?

The Muslim Brotherhood is evil and terrorist related.

I strongly disagree. The reason Iran 1979 happened in the first place is because we stuck our nose in their business in 1953, overthrew a democratically elected president, and installed a tyrant in his place.

The revolt in Egypt, at this time, is not being carried on by Islamic fundamentalists, but by the educated, and by workers. If we attempt, in the slightest, to keep Mubarak in place, or to replace him with a ruler who has a different name, but keeps the same repressive policies in place, then we will become another classic case of a nation doomed to repeat history because we failed to heed it.

So democracy doesn't work for Muslims? Maybe someone should have told George that before he liberated Iraq.

So like your avatar you only see things in black and white?

We can and should promote democracy. We can and should take a principled stand with anyone we side with. that DOESNT mean we embrace the violent overthrow of ANYONE. thats not democracy. But then...you KNOW that.

Anyone that doesnt see what is facing Egypt is either foolish or blind. And anyone that thinks the violent overthrow of the Egyptian government stands to put Islamic extremists in power..well...you arent a very good student of history.

BUT...lets do this... for everyone that thinks we should support this 'democracy'...when **** turns really really ugly...yep...thats right...you own it.

Sorry, but there's no way that you know that that's why the rebellion of '79 took place.

Well, that's exactly what happened in Iran in '79.

You like to brag about how you're a real Conservative; well, real Conservatives don't drink the kool-aid.

On November 4, 1979, radical Iranian students seized the United States Embassy complex in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

That's true. The talking points haven't been issued, yet. :lamo

Sadly as wise as Ron Paul is he's considered a nut by many people.

Ron Paul IS a nut.

Sadly many people do not understand the truth. Its a hard thing to grasp for most. I understand but do not blame. Is anyone rooting for people of Saudi Arabia and hoping they topple over the House of Saud?
