(Reuters) - The United States warned China it would redeploy forces in Asia if Beijing failed to rein in North Korea, an Obama administration official said on Friday, as Pyongyang bowed to Seoul's demands for crisis talks.

President Barack Obama's warning had persuaded China -- the North's main diplomatic and economic backer -- to take a harder line toward Pyongyang, and opened the door to a resumption of inter-Korean talks, possibly next month, the official said, confirming a report in The New York Times.

North Korea accepted the South's conditions for talks on Thursday, marking a major breakthrough in the crisis on the peninsula. Such dialogue could clear the way for the resumption of the six-party aid-for-disarmament talks.

We should just liberate North Korea and make it a US territory already. Then eventually make the territory an official US state.

America would have to borrow the money from the Chinese in order to redeploy American forces to NE Asia.

See America is going to subdue a mountanious country full of well armed/trained people that hate it. Its not like that strategy has ever gone wrong before.

I have no clue why we are threatening China, there's no point to it seeing as how no one can control their insane leader. Also, how is the US going to redeploy forces to try and threaten NK when we are already bogged down in Afghanistan and have massive amounts of debt, some of which China owns.

Yup. Obama's a fool for threatening his bankers. But Kim isn't insane. He's playing his game. We will see how well Obama plays poker. I suspect his inexperience will make him a loser.

I like the article you posted, not the opinion you offered, which is completely bogus. Our interest is a peaceful Korean peninsula.

I don't think that Koreans-- under either government-- want to become Americans. And even if they did, it is certainly not in our best interests to attempt to assimilate that many aliens at once.
