Health Care Reform Repeal Passes House

No, it is true. It was true in Novemeber. On this issue, many who disliked the reform disliked it because it didn't go far enough and not that it did too much.
I'm not too sure about that claim. Can you point us to the polling or study that you are citing? One of the oddities in this debate is that going back a year ago most people were for health care reform. Not a nationalized health care system. Reform! This bill does not appear to do much in the way of reform, so I am wondering if that is what you are talking about? The bill does not do much for reform so it could be argued that is what "many" people were talking about? Either way without some sort of source to look at, that supports your claim, it is just speculation on both our parts.

Obummer actually considering the desire of the American people? Don't hold your breath.
I knew that joke was going to get made when I posted that comment. I think it depends on where the national mood is at when it comes across his desk. Becuase you know, he might want to get re-elected.

The bill isn't perfect but if it repeals all the way I feel bad for children with preexisting conditions and people who get cancer and can't get health insurance.
Those matters can still be addressed down the line. It is not as if this bill is the end all be all on the whole matter of health care reform and matters like those won't get addressed ever. I see a lot people acting as if that is the case, not saying you are, just that I see a lot of that going on.

I think Republicans need to do what Democrats do, i.e., criminalize policy differences. This creates a deterrent effect and chills the behavior of bureaucrats. For example, make it a felony to use any federal funds or revenue to achieve the individual mandate for Obamacare. Hard ball.

Shhh -- the Teabrains are pacified and will STFU.

we could have an interesting conversation on what pacifies nannystate peabrains

What happens in the courts might have a major impact on the viability of socialist health care in 2012

I've tried having a conversation with you... I get an earful of Limbaugh talking points and nothing else.

"Socialist Health Care" proves you have no understanding of the bill at all.

I understand more than you ever will. That you call my points Limbaughesque proves you don't read what I post or listen to what Rush says.

The requirement people buy insurance violates the tenth amendment and will be stricken on that grounds sooner or later

How do House Republicans plan on dealing with parts of the Health law that a majority of the population support.

hr2 contains a provision directing 4 committees (ways and means, energy and commerce, budget, and health-education-labor or help) to get to work crafting a replacement

gop goals include: lowering premiums, protecting pre-existers, expanding coverage, preserving portability, maintaining medicare, without raising taxes

almost as ambitious as obamacare, except we know what we're doing

Are you kidding? He campaigned heavily on health care in 2008 and won by a substantial margin.

true, but he focused entirely on economics, not social expansion

his words for his vision thru his charismatic campaign were, "reverse the cost trajectory"

since then, he's lost his way

he passed major reform of 1/6 of our economy via senate RECONCILIATION

before stupak suckerpunched himself out of a position, the house was prepared to DEEM the damn thing

it is what it is---all yours, libs

why didn't republicans ever do that on their own?

did they need obama to kick them in the a** to jump start health care reform?

this is kind of fun, typing all of my lines double spaced and all lower case.

maybe i'll keep doing it

But the difference here is Obama has a sound policy

LOL!

he sure did

a sound policy to win for his opposition 66 house seats, most since '38, control of the house, the most state reps and legislatures in modern history, 10 gubs and 6 senators

go, barry!

That I agree with. However, I believe that many are using talking points that grossly misrepresent Obama's health care plan. Those misrepresentations have been debunked. I strongly believe that, if we are to reverse what Obama has put in place, we should be honest about it. That the government should not be in the health care business speaks for itself, and is all we need. To use the talking points spewed by others is to muddy the waters, and will lead to an argument that cannot be won. The fact that Obama's health care plan is unconstitutional should be all we need to make our point, and that point is all we need to accomplish reversing what has been put into place.

You make very good points. I also think the bill is unconstitutional and if I were a betting man I'd bet it gets overturned on those grounds. So I wonder, does anyone know what the Vegas odds makers are saying about the bill? I did some searching but could not find anything on that.

A picture is worth a thousand words

You're correct, the Republicans in the House are idiots.

They won because of the economy, not because of Healthcare.

how does that make them idiots. most of us who voted for the GOP want Obamacare to fail and to die a quick death
