Ron Reagan Saw Signs of Father's Alzheimer's at White House

time for some introspection if you find a discussion of the observations made by the president's son as attacking ronnie
blinders do not enhance one's world view

How close was the President's son, Ronnie, to the President? Did you even watch the 20-20 interview? You want to believe what WH Doctors refuse to acknowledge all coming from a outcast son and the question is why?

So Ronnie Junior who is hawking his left wing book, is now claiming that his father was senile in his term as presidency.....

Is this the "new tone"?

IQ doesn't impress me at all as I prefer leadership skills and street smarts. Palin did something right in Alaska as she had an approval rating of over 60% most of her term. I like her down to earth common sense style over the intellectual psychobabble of the elite establishment.

at one time it was over 90%

The wipeout in the 2006 election left Republicans in such a state of dejection that they've overlooked the one shining victory in which a Republican star was born. The triumph came in Alaska where Sarah Palin, a politician of eye-popping integrity, was elected governor. She is now the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating in the 90s, and probably the most popular public official in any state. Her rise is a great (and rare) story of how adherence to principle--especially to transparency and accountability in government--can produce political success. And by the way, Palin is a conservative who only last month vetoed 13 percent of the state's proposed budget for capital projects. The cuts, the Anchorage Daily News said, "may be the biggest single-year line-item veto total in state history."

LOL, here we are 23 years after Reagan left office and you along with others still attacking him. Says a lot about how great Ronald Reagan really was. Keep up the attacks as it says a lot about you especially someone who lives in Southern England. Thanks to the strength of this country and the great friendship between the U.S. and England, you aren't speaking German now. I am sure that friendship wasn't built on attacking former U.S. Presidents especially one who understood freedom comes through military strength.

Like that war was won before you guys eventually pitched up. If it wasn't for Britain, you would all be speaking French right now. (maybe with a German accent.)
Peter Ustinov was famously given a tour of the White House by Reagan. During a visit of several hours duration, including a break for lunch, Ustinov found that the most illustrative aspect for him was the fact that during the entire time, nobody interrupted to ask the President for his opinion or decision on any topic whatsoever.

You give the Brits a bad name and reputation. Thank you for our independence

Nancy Reagan was the the first female president of the USA. 1984-1988.

LOL!

so it was nancy who ran reykjavik

it was nancy who tolerated that atrocious chief of staff until 1987

how did dear ronnie deliver four sotu's, multiple major addresses, a hope filled farewell, without any of the tens of millions of witnesses, including hundreds of thousands of haters, noticing he wasn't all there?

your observation is as absurd as paul krugman's, chris matthews and sheriff dupnik's attempts to blame palin and beck for the arizona shooter

the haters are losin it, folks, right in front of you

no wonder america punished em so severely on tsunami tuesday

the oddity is they've gotten worse since nov 2, not better

party on, progressives, while we repeal obamacare piece by piece

A left wing nobody like Peter Ustinov would never have been given a several hour tour of the White House and, if there had been a modest tour, of course it would have been uninterrupted, It's called manners.

If you don't believe me, read some of the interviews from the white house aids. You simply did not do anything without her approval. She basically took up the slack as Ron was becoming overtaken by his illness. She could get his ideas during his better times and enforce them when he wasn't himself. She ran the country for the last three years of his presidency.

This jackass has been added to my ignore list.

From Wikipedia. "Sir Peter Alexander Ustinov, CBE (pronounced /ˈjuːstɪnɒf/ or /ˈuːstɪnɒf/;[1] 16 April 1921 – 28 March 2004; Russian: Сэр Пи́тер Алекса́ндр Усти́нов, CBE), was an English actor, writer and dramatist.
He was also renowned as a filmmaker, theatre and opera director, film director, stage designer, author, screenwriter, comedian, humorist, newspaper and magazine columnist, radio broadcaster and television presenter.
A noted wit and raconteur, he was, for much of his career, a fixture on television talk shows and lecture circuits, as well as a respected intellectual and diplomat who, in addition to his various academic posts, served as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and President of the World Federalist Movement.
Ustinov was the winner of numerous awards over his life, including Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards, as well the recipient of governmental honours from, amongst others, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. He displayed a unique cultural versatility that has frequently earned him the accolade of a Renaissance Man."

I understand why you would know nothing of such a talent, but your ignorance of Ustinov's many accolades is irrelevant. Reagan merely read his lines when told. When not performing for the public, he was left to make his own entertainment while the staff ran the country.

Let me fix that for you:

Ron Reagan Saw Signs of Father's Alzheimer's at White House - ABC News

It is always the family that see the sign's first, but if the family and his advisor's hid this fact from the rest of the world... then damn.. Why on earth if they knew, did they allow him to run for a second term? Who ran the country for the whole of Reagan's second term then?

There seem to be inconsistencies, but let us say for sake of argument he did have Old Timer's. What does it prove?

A Republican with a brain that isn't functioning 100% still is far more effective than a lib.

Why?

You see, when someone is guided by a perverse ideology like Obama... you don't want them active. The only do more and bigger damage.

OOOOOH man lol.

I do get a kick out of this.

I wanna hear the story about how you "recovered" from socialism again...

Isn't it too bad for the left, that Reagan back peddled on his comments?

At the moment it isn't relevant... now what defense do you have for bitterly clinging to a destructive ideology Jet?

That is what I would like to hear. You obviously were paying close attention to my conversion from the ideology of the idiots. Tell me about your indoctrination. How did YOU become a member of the emotional elite?

Actually I'm very aware of Peter Ustinov, having watched a TV special of him extolling the virtues of life in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. He was probably padding his resume in claiming that Ronald Reagan would ever give him a several hour tour. I wouldn't have believed anything that self promoting windbag had to say.

When you talk like this, it is YOU who sounds like they have been indoctrinated into some sort of bizarre cult. It certainly isn't conservatism... at least no kind of "normal" conservativism.

As far as Reagan goes... was he getting senile towards the end of his Presidency? Probably? Did it matter or would it have been noticed? Probably not. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the most important job a President has it surrounding himself with good people as advisors. If Reagan was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's, his people would have continued to do the jobs that he hired them to do. Until it got into the second stage, it probably wouldn't cause problems. Along with this, we must remember that Reagan's management style was very hands off. He hired his subordinates to do a job; he didn't "nanny" them about it afterwards. Now, this had some pluses and minuses. A solid subordinate who worked well independently, would shine. An idiot who was corrupt or made uniltateral decisions that were against policy or against Reagan's wishes would be a problem. There were both types in the Reagan Administration. So, though I do believe that Reagan was in the early stage of Alzheimer's, I don't think it mattered much, because of the early stage he was in, because of his management style, and because of his staff.
