Women Should Be Allowed in Combat Units, Report Says

Maybe so, but that crack starts bleeding every month, like clockwork. What's going to happen when a platoon's strength is cut down significantly, because the female soldiers had to be dusted-off, with sick ******s?

"What are they going to do"
Wah wah - they're going to bleed for a few days - that's normal, it happens to ALMOST everyone. It's not like women haven't dealt with it before FOR CENTURIES.

It's not like it's that big of a deal. A pack of tampons is quite small, easy to carry. You drop your draws - squat - insert - on your way . . . 4 or 6 hours later - repeat. I've gone roughneck camping for 2 months at a time - 3 periods - with some tampons and leaves. If I can do it *hooah hooah* than any tough chick with a uterus can do it *hooah hooah.*

Now - on that note- you're assuming that ALL women have a period. You're assuming that ALL women having difficult or heavy ones.
But what about the ones who've had histerectomy? Or those who have the blessing of rarely bleeding at all? Imagine that - a woman without a uterus and without a period! OMG! NOOOO! *icky icky* FREAKS! (bless them one and all!)

:rofl I guess they should all be invited in - since this is your attempt at an argument against them.

How about when a female soldier and male soldier are supposed to be manning a listening post/observation post and they have ****ing on their mind, rather than doing their job and keeping their comrades alive? People may die, that's what. And, it's gonna happen, let's not kid ourselves.

Geesh - who gives a ****? So they get a little bit of dick - an orgasm or two. How is this any different than my husband jacking off in his bunk with the pink elephant I sent him or him watching pornos of me finishing off his ****?

Or the gays that you KNOW are there. . .*wink wink* (I've seen the videos - I know what really goes on)

I support mandatory birth control  Pregnancy problem solved!

For the third time, it's nothing to do with ability.

Well- being in the service should ONLY be about ability and nothing more.
Wrapping up all this 'non ability' bull**** into it is what's watered down qualifications and expectations.

Here I thought that being in the military meant everyone was rugged and trained to deal with EVERYTHING that happens - geesh! Guess not. A lot of guys in the military do a lot of whining - whining about women, whining about gays, whining about their missons . . . pacifiers anyone?

You're not comparing like demographics.

Your garden variety wife beating piece-a-**** guy doesn't usually join the military.

My husband goes away ALL THE TIME to deal with soldiers who DO EXACTLY THAT - they abuse, they get sent to jail, they go to trial - sometimes they get booted OUT.

You're out of the loop. . . it's extremely common for service men AND women to abuse their spouses and their children.

Just because they've joined doesn't mean they aren't assholes and I have no idea why you'd think otherwise.

Yeah, and when their ***** gets sick and they request to go to the hospital, their platoon leader will have no choice to accomadate them...just like any male soldier with a medical problem.

He was doing it in his bunk and not on gaurd duty. That's the point.

Well-that's not the reality of it.

Here I thought that being in the military meant everyone was rugged and trained to deal with EVERYTHING that happens - geesh! Guess not. A lot of guys in the military do a lot of whining - whining about women, whining about gays, whining about their missons . . . pacifiers anyone?

It's a soldier's God given right to bitch. If soldiers aren't bitching about something; something is wrong.

Yeah, and when their ***** gets sick and they request to go to the hospital, their platoon leader will have no choice to accomadate them...just like any male soldier with a medical problem.

Since when is a woman getting her period a medical problem?

Just because they've joined doesn't mean they aren't assholes and I have no idea why you'd think otherwise.

I enver said otherwise. I knew plenty of assholes in the Army. When my exwife and I were living in post housing at Fort Hood, my upstairs neighbor--a male soldier whose soldier wife was in the field--bounced his 6 month old baby off the ceiling a few times, then threw her out the window, from the third floor of the building.

He got the **** kicked out him and then the MP's arrived. I never did get a good look at the three dudes that ****ed him up.

The military has it's share of assholes, no doubt, but the asshole rate in the military is much smaller than what you're going to see in the civilian world.

So, here's a solution for the protective ‘instinct’ which is harming women in pursuing their military careers: line up the guys and have each female recruit kick each male recruit squarely in the nuts until he agrees that they don't need or want his protective custody.

The sad part of that comment: you're probably being serious.

And, if you are, that strategy will blow unit cohesion completely to ****.

Yeah, and when their ***** gets sick and they request to go to the hospital, their platoon leader will have no choice to accomadate them...just like any male soldier with a medical problem.

Yeah - medical issues happen. My ex wasn't circumsized and he always had foreskin infections. My husband had 2 teeth pulled while he was deployed  That was just ONE problem that took him off the front lines.

Believe it or not - **** happens *all the time* - infections, colds, the flu, indigestion and all sorts of intestinal woes! On and on - because soldiers are people and people get sick.

Do you know the sheer number of non-war related injuries and illnesses that are suffered while units are deployed? What do you think is the most common? Lemme tell you - it's not a stupid little yeast infections.

It's Heat Stroke and similar illnesses that affect EVERYONE.

He was doing it in his bunk and not on gaurd duty. That's the point.

Or so you assume! I'm sure guys do it while on duty on the time - do I care?
I do not care.

I can even emphasize it in a little jingle: "You can jack off anywhere - Aunt Spiker doesn't care."

Well-that's not the reality of it.

I know - thus - I am arguing against "how things currently are" and "the status quo."

It's a soldier's God given right to bitch. If soldiers aren't bitching about something; something is wrong.

Is that one of the 10 commandments? :D

Well, that may be the case in the Navy, but out there where the actual soldiers do their work--in combat arms units--it's a different story.

In the navy, not only did we do our work, but we knew what we were talking about too. Wiki not a good source, let's see what the military says(I picked the marines since they are the best ground troops):

the PFT provides an instrument that measures the collective level of physical fitness Marine Corps wide. It is a measurement of general fitness vice combat readiness and unit/MOS capability.

Perhaps it escaped you that I was pointing out how the Army Physical Fitness Test is defined?

Short of BUDS, how many times do sailors go on 25 mile humps with 75+ pounds of gear on their backs?

Think this troop is wishing he had a little more upper body strength and stamina? I'm guessing, yeah, but your mileage may vary.

BTW, he's a motorman. See the baseplate on his ruck?

… Think this troop is wishing he had a little more upper body strength and stamina? …

Whatever happened to the word ‘trooper’?

Carrying **** isn't the gender issue you think it is. Running with wider hips, now that's an impediment.

Some jangly tits!

Whatever happened to the word ‘trooper’?

Trooper is a term that defines a mounted soldier, typically a cavalryman. It's also use when addressing paratroopers. Historically, "trooper", doesn't apply to anyone outside the cavalry.

Which why some women may not be fit to serve in combat arms. Men, who are totin' an extra 40 pounds of belly aren't fit for combat arms, either.

This seems to be a pattern with people today. You managed to not address what I pointed out in the least, and came back with entirely unrelated points that do not disprove anything I have stated.

I knew a guy that got kicked out of BCT, because he couldn't pass his APFT. He was on third BCT cycle and they finally said **** it and kicked him out.

But how often does this happen?

Which was a shame, I thought, because his MOS was typewriter repair, or some pog other pog ass **** like that.

Hey I was regetted for the Air Force due to high arches when the old man who was a Green Beret and had jumped out planes hundreds of times has higher arches than me. It never stopped him.

It didn't stop me either. I tried again and this time they forgot to check the arches. I remember the doc saying, "Is there anything you think I missed." I said, "nope!" She forgot to stick her finger in my butt too. I wasn't going to remind her of that either. :2razz:

One of the stupidest things I ever saw was when I was in the ANG. We had a body builder booted out because he was considered overweight for his height. Imagine that. Well hell yeah muscle weighs more than fat you dimrods!

Speak for yourself. I defined the Army Physical Fitness test. You came back with some crap about the Navy and the Marine Corps.

Women don't become Marines or join the Navy?

One of the best soldiers I ever knew was kicked out on the fat boy program. Maxed his PFT, maxed his rifle qual, attended jump school and air assault school. He basically maxed out everything he did and got kicked out because he was 20 pounds overweight. The fat boy program was a ****ing joke, but that's what happens when there is a drawdown.

Since reading the thread is too difficult, I will actually help you out:

Ya think, "overall fitness", could include muscle strength, too? Maybe?

That's true.

The regulations are a bit outdated - and how they determine 'unacceptable' levels of body fat is inaccurate and silly (it's basically a comparison means - the difference between different measured areas of the body, not overall body fat)
