This story is an uplifting, downer.

What it tells me is this young man was raised with values you don't see in young people every day, or even very often anywhere anymore.

I think of how his little brother will feel as he gets older and how much he'll miss his big brother, and Mother.

Well, we actually have a lot of it. The men and women in our military exemplify this commitment, love, selflessness daily, thankfully though most survive their ordeals. Unfortunately I don't think it's celebrated as it had been in the past, but that's for another thread.

There are stories of death you can consume and move on with your daily grind, stuff like this pierces the heart.
