Report: Arizona Gunman Was Not Motivated By Politics - FoxNews.com

Arizona massacre gunman Jared Loughner's downward spiral may have been touched off by a broken high school romance and fueled by drug use -- but it was not politically motivated, according to his best friend in high school.

Zach Osler, in an interview Wednesday with ABC's "Good Morning America," said: "He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right."

Osler said he instead suspects that Loughner was motivated by a documentary called, "Zeitgeist: The Movie," which slams currency-based economics.

"I really think that this "I really think that this 'Zeitgeist' documentary had a profound impact upon Jared Loughner's mindset and how he viewed the world that he lives in," he said.

This is very revealing because 'Zeitgeist' is basically a revised version of communism.

Yeah, I started reviewing this “ZEITGEIST: THE MOVIE” and scanned the “COMPANION SOURCE GUIDE” that you can find through the links.

This makes way more sense now. If Jared was taking the hallucinogen “salvia”, along with other drugs, and watching crap like these Zeitgeist movies, combined with obvious mental illness, it’s no wonder he snapped.

This movie is just bizarre.

Zeitgeist is largely pointless, but it should be a shame for it to be banned. Unfortunately for me, I will never get the time back I wasted watching it.

You actually watched it? I couldn't force myself to, and I force myself to watch a great deal of conspiracy theory films...or at least, try to. I think at some point I must have overdosed on their stupidity, so I couldn't watch any more of them.

He is just covering for the conservative agenda

I am still going to wait for things to be proven or confirmed but to the people who jumped on the anti-gun bandwagon, what else are you going to ban when someone gets stabbed or blown up or killed by a gun despite all your best efforts to outlaw them? Turns out we may have been able to save some lives by banning this movie (Joke). I think it is more useful to discuss mental illness and how we treat people we know are dangerous.

Probably not.

But targets and crosshairs on campaign maps will be outlawed.

Really...until the guy speaks, his computer is looked through, his personal affects are gone through, its going to be hard to make a definitive statement as to the motivations and factors that played into this factually.

But for every person that is latching onto the thinnest of circumstantial evidence and just outright factually unconnected coincidences (Such as the Palin graphic), if they continue to cherry pick what actual factual information that comes out about this man....from his youtube channel, to his "casual" friends descriptions of him, to his best friends description of him...because it counter acts their obvious and transparent POLITICAL agenda then they are going to be made to look even more of the fool in all of this.

As every bit of additional evidence about this man has came out, the picture over and over again has been of someone who would have as much disdain for the Rush Limbaughs and Sarah Palins as he did for this congresswoman. A person who could no more accurately be described as "right wing" then he could be as "left wing". A person whose ideology was extreme and touched on all points of the political spectrum.

Yet throughout it all, despite the fact that many of us have said wait for evidence to come out before you start condemning, the topic of conversation has focused almost singularly around "hateful rhetoric" on the right and how it is, directly or indirectly, responsible for this. Throughout it all you have had people saying, and being derided, for suggesting that it may not be a political motivated attack in regards to the standard implication that people are using with regards to "politically motivated".

What truly were the factors that lead into what happened will continue to become reveald over the coming days and weeks. But as each new piece comes out, the disgusting, dispicable, and insulting manipulation and use of this attack as nothing but a hollow and lifeless tool to beat a seemingly more and more unconnected political issue over peoples heads as a means of attacking political components will look even more obviously ugly.

I am sure...just like every other bit of information that has pointed to what I've stated above and has ruined and distorted the fairy tale world those that have sought to capitalize upon these deaths have created....that these people will simply continue to cherry pick, shrug off, and ignore this.

I think its more referencing how most people use "politically motivated" which is to suggest that its movitated specifically due to the politics of one particular party or the other.

The list of signals pointing to mental instability go back years and were seemly ignored by those who may have been able to help this clearly sick individual.

I have personally known people who have at some point lost touch with reality for one reason or another and the key is not what triggers a tragedy, it's what signals are ignored on the way.

Mental health seldom talked about until something like this event happen. Hell even some lessor crimes are indications that something is wrong, as is the use of some medications that can contribute to breaks with reality.

The list is endless and it's up to us to learn to recognize them and then take the proper action.

I agree that the Left have once again gone off the deep end blaming everyone but the shooter, and worst is the Pima County Sheriff who needs to be recalled, and the Obamaedia idiots like those on MSNBC who are of questionable mental health themselves.

It is clear that the facts are once again being set aside in favor of partisan political attacks by the Liberals.

It's up to those of us who can still think to continue the changes that started back in last Novembers elections, and restore sanity to this Nation.

Salvia wears off in like 10 minutes and it's legal in most of the states. It affects your mind... during the time you're on it. Now, I don't know the effects on people with mental illnesses, but I don't know anybody who took it who had permanent or even any long term effects.

I'm not sure I buy this. If you read further in the article, it says this friend hasn't talked to him in two years. How would he know what made the guy do it?

I just have trouble believing that the attempted assassination of a congresswoman was not politically motivated. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the people saying that Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin caused this. That's just stupid. Just because it's politically motivated doesn't mean the guy was a liberal or a conservative, or was motivated by or reflects on liberals or conservatives.
