Pure speculation here: But it could be a bunch of different things. The first thing that comes to mind is they won't release any information about this guy until the prosecution puts together a case and that case will not be jeopardized by some overindulgent release of this guys records. A second, darker thought is, that there may be something in the records which will beg the question: "Why didn't the Sheriff's office persue this guy when they know X, Y, Z?" It may just make the Sheriff look bad.

That's possible except the FBI is asking for this data, and they should be familiar with procedures.

yeah. that the guy got himself highlighted on television during the Arizona Immigration Debate swearing up and down he would refuse to enforce the law, even if SCOTUS confirmed its' Constitutionality also deserves mention here.

He isn't a Democrat. I never said he wasn't a left-winger. He does caucus with the Democrats. But he was trying to paint all "Demos" as something that a guy who isn't an actual member of the party is. Words have meaning. How would you like it if I painted all Republicans to be like Alex Jones? I'd bet you'd object. I would.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department and Pima Community College have declined to release documents that could shed light on run-ins they had with 22-year-old Jared Loughner in the months prior to the shooting.

The Arizona Public Records Law requires that records be "open to inspection by any person at all times" unless officials can prove releasing the information would violate rights of privacy or confidentiality or otherwise harm the best interests of the state.

The Arizona Republic requested that records, including incident reports on campus and calls for dispatch of deputies to Loughner's home, be released under the law. Such reports are often released as a matter of course in criminal cases.

People around here immediately dismiss this, ignore his youtube videos, dismiss the other friends statements about his views or lack there of......but grasp onto a poster of which there is no factual evidence at all that he ever saw or gave a damn about and a group he was possibly a member of that possibly has some members that possibly identify as tea partiers, and use that to continually run around the forum suggesting that somehow rhetoric and language unquestionably created an "atmosphere" that either inspired or enabled such an act to happen.

Back then The Libs got their asses kicked and the R's took over both chambers for the first time in 40-years. You don't think that pissed off the left? Of course it did. I think it's a good thing, even a great thing to have the electorate engaged... and passionate. But of course there is a line. Rush didn't cross it. Palin hasn't crossed it, nor has FOXNEWS. The Dems have crossed it in the most disgusting manner twice in less than a decade.

Talk radio was a significant force in the D's demise, and now FOXNEWS and the internet don't let them get away with their spin like they once could when they owned the media. It is voices like Limbaugh the left wants to shut down, and this shooting is another illustration of how low they are willing to go to achieve that goal.

I thought voting to send our troops to Gulf War 2 and then turning their backs on them... treasonous back stabbing was as low as one could go. Sending troops to war for political expediency... there could be nothing lower. Could there? I was wrong. Their behavior after this shooting is at least on par with that most digusting moment in their history.

And for what reason do we see the D's twice sink to this depth... swimming in the feces... with full assistance from their journOlists?

Power.

It's sad, sick, and demented, but it's the story of the modern Democrat party.

I have always been slow to back any recall move because I know the cost involved is high but in this case it's the Pima County Sheriff who has been the 'Irresponsible' one and needs to be removed from office ASAP.

A friend of the shooter said he never watched TV or listened to talk radio and was apolitical. The Sheriff is following the path of the hate mongering lying Lefties and was being as partisan as he could be.

They were talking about the out of control crime rate in his county as compared to Sheriff Joe next door. He won't even enforce immigration law. This guy is a tool, and a piece of work.

This has sickened a lot of people. Obama tried to calm it down yesterday with a relatively quiet speech at the memorial (though it still sounded a lot like a campaign speech).

The Dems are badly bruised from this hysteria. They thought they had something to grasp on to after the November embarassment. Now, they're trying to figure out why it didn't stick.

Not only did it not stick, this will have long legs. People are embarassed of them.
