Arizona Suspect's Erratic Behavior Raises Questions About Gun Sales

Show us where gun control laws works to curb gun crimes.

How many mass murders take place in, "gun free", zones?

i lived in japan
almost no gun crime
that nation's abandonment of guns for self defense and the very modest gun crime correlate

What kind of gun did he use? Does anyone know?

How about better gun legislation? Making a blanket statement like that really shows your ignorance. Using that statement you could infer that you are suggesting the solution to gun crime is always less legislation.

so until someone is adjudicated mentally incompetent how are you going to deny constitutional rights to people?

They used to kill anyone of a certain class who owned a sword. they also don't have fourth amendment protections

tell me how are you going to impose Japanese values on our country

he wanted to see evidence that gun laws constrain gun crime
i provided him an example, squire
you must have been sleeping when they taught that technique in law school

With a 30 round clip.

that is a magazine, not a clip and it was most likely 33 rounds=G 18 magazine

so what-I can reload a glock in under a second and a half
or carry two

i looked at each of your posts in that 10 page thread and found that you offered NO cites
looks like you have no proof
just as was expected

You apparently didn't read very thoroughly then. I stated clearly where all my information came from each time I cited a statistic. You're just not interested in hearing it and I can't help that. I don't make an effort to debate people that aren't worth my time.

not a single cite
just your instence that you have support for your views
nothing verifiable
typical

Oh dang. I had the story in my mind wrong then. I thought police found a full auto and people heard sprays of gunfire. Its unfortunate the shooter was so accurate with his bullets. :(

I don't think it was a matter of accurracy, just a tightly packed group. People couldn't get away in time, from the sound of it.

Hey angryamerican are you ever going to tell me how you know so much about AZ gun law that you can justify a statement like "there's no way it can be improved." You've avoided answering it over and over again and I'm starting to think you don't know dick about my state's gun laws.

Seriously... this is the last time I bite for your stupid trolling.

In 1966, the city of Orlando responded to a wave of sexual assaults by offering firearms training classes to women. Rapes dropped by nearly 90% the following year.

Easily verifiable via Google, but it was originally published in Department of Justice's National Crime Victimization Survey. That one, I apologize for not citing directly.

From the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, we learn that every year, people in the United States use a gun to defend themselves against criminals an estimated 2,500,000 times, which breaks down to about 6,500 people a day, or once every 13 seconds. Of these instances, 15.6% of the people using a firearm defensively stated that they "almost certainly" saved their lives by doing so.

The FBI did a study titled “Critical Incidents in Policing” which tells us that out of 83.5% (2,087,500) of these successful gun defenses, the attacker either threatened or used force first.

Finally, a National Crime Victimization Survey done over a period of several years concluded that 76% of all uses of guns as a means of self-defense never involve firing a single shot.

Now please, try reading. Those are not opinions. Now, if you would like to contribute usefully to the discussion at hand, feel free to do so.

so people's medical records should be divulged without court action

That was just an idea I had, I wasn't advocating it as a solution because I knew there would be things that would crop up when it was confronted, like for example it would mean divulging medical information to additional parties. But it was just an idea, what I'm really here in this topic for is to get AngryAmerican to acknowledge he's let his opinions get the better of him.

if you want credit, you will authorize the prospective lender access to your credit records

if you want a gun permit, you will authorize the issuing party access to your medical records

Hey, Wiseone, I live in a state bordering AZ and have to be familiar with your gun laws because I pass through AZ several times a year on my way to CA. Now... try to contribute intelligently to the discussion.

A loan is not a constitutional right. That is all.

yes, please post your cites which would prove that more guns on the streets will reduce the volume of gun crimes

One of Robert A. Heinlein's SiFi books quotes his character saying, "an armed society is a polite society".

I am in favor of doubling or tripling the time serve when a deadly weapon is used in a crime.

I favor a .22 target pistol, for some reason I suck with a rifle. No matter, I don't hunt animals, don't even fish anymore. Old pop cans, tho....

sorry the constittional rights of individuals trumps the hysterics of the left.

maybe we should have people divulge their 1040s before they could vote

Still waiting to hear about your knowledge of Arizona gun laws. For someone who accused me of dodging a point you are really putting on a show yourself.
