My first impression fo Dupnik, is that he's a dumbass, too. Especially, if he's going to jump on that band wagon, before the bodies are even cold.

Anyone that would blame this on Sarah Palin is a piece of ****.

Here is part of the definition of "assassination" from wiki...

"Assassinations may be prompted by religious, ideological, political, or military motives. Additionally, assassins may be prompted by financial gain, revenge, a desire to acquire status within a group, or a psychological need to garner personal public recognition."

....and at this point the motivations of the psycho are not clear. He may have attacked the Congresswoman for some specific political position she had. Or maybe just she represented authority in general. Or maybe simply because she was a public figure and it garnered him some desired infamy.


But then again. Maybe he was just a ****ing homicidal maniac...

A fellow who was in my graduating class became quite notorious a couple decades back and was in the national spotlight for some especially egregious sex crimes, and my rememberance ofthe fellow is that he had no friends. When I read the news, I wasn't really all that surprised. I couldn't see THAT particular event coming, but neither was I shocked by it (other than the visceral).

They're thinking Loughner might have had an accomplice at this point. I personally don't think so, because then this shooting would have been marginally more organized. It seemed a lot more like some crazy guy on his own.

Do not presume that. Accomplice does not mean the individual organized the attack or participated in it. If you release a large rabid dog into a pen of kittens it does not take much imagination to figure what will happen. The mentally ill are certainly susceptible to manipulation by the mentally stable.
 
This is very hard for me to type, as I just learned this.

The little 9yo girl who was killed was there because she was recently elected to student council and was brought there by a neighbor who thought the little girl would enjoy it.

I'm sorry, I have to end this post now. I haven't cried this hard in years. They just showed her picture. She was beautiful beyond words. Ironically enough, she was born on September 11th, 2001.

Funny how a tragedy brought us this beautiful child, and yet another took her away.

Rest in peace little angel.

Kind of makes me wonder if you would be less emotional were the child an ugly little creature.

It is a normal human response to some act that they don't have enough facts on. You pass a motor vehicle accident and you try to speculate what caused it.
Yesterday there was initially such wild speculation whether Giffords was alive or dead by the media who had people on the scene.

With the Okalhoma City Bombing years ago speculation was way off the target by first accusing it to be from Muslims but in light of the climate then it was felt to make sense perhaps.

Am certain the police investigation is doing there speculation too and acting on it to see if it is founded or not. People here desire to know the truth too so in attempt to make sense of this.

Already many have labeled him insane but I am not so certain and believe this was a well planned out killing by someone of normal intelligence but then I am just speculating.

It is the right wing darling Sarah Palin that is six feet of stinking excrement for putting up that disgusting and revolting map with the target cross-hairs on it and a list of intended victims on the bottom, one of which was the Congresswoman from Arizona. She played with fire and now she is getting burned. And nothing smells worse than a stinking pile of crap.

Sheriff Dupnik committed the high crime of right wing treason - he spoke the truth about their own failings.

Reading more and more about him, its possible he may not be insane (not in a medical sense), but he is so extreme and radical that he is crazy, as in one of the most political extremists we've heard about, on par with suicide bombers. If that be the case, it would seem he is competent to stand trial, may even announce in court he isn't crazy, just devout, and maybe he will get the death penalty.

Hay...Loughner isn't right wing or left wing. Looking at what he says, he believes a lot of far right and far left things...as Turtle said earlier, he's a bipartisan asshole. And there isn't any one group/person to blame. The rhetoric has been getting worse for a long time...
