This story just gets me so mad. It is horrible that there are parents who not only allow their teens to behave so badly, but who also behave so badly themselves.

But a group of teenagers had other plans for Federico and Kalyn Freire, who were assaulted outside a Florida movie theater after asking the teens to be quiet during a movie on Christmas Day.

That is disgusting. I hope they are ok, and those teens are probably going to end up in prison eventually. OMG. I hate those kids. I hope the judge throws the book at them.

Do they live in a seriously bad neighborhood or what?

It sounded like they were just visiting relatives there. The one report said that the guy was stationed at Camp Pendleton.

In a perfect world there would have just happen to be about 20 other marines watching the movie who came to his aid. That is what the punks need just a good old fashion in your face butt kicking by the hands of guys who actually train.

And when the youths try to run away have the crowd push that back into the fight and make them have to finish it out. No mercy.

Looks to me the man acted like a Marine. Because if he hadn't, her lip would be as big as her thumb.

Actually in the first link, he said that it was being reported that he was on leave from Afghanistan, but that that information wasn't correct. Rather, he had been deployed to Iraq and was currently stationed in Camp Pendelton, CA.

Freire told FoxNews.com that news outlets reporting he was home on leave from Afghanistan were incorrect, and that he had served a combat tour in Iraq and currently was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

And...in the real world, they would have all been charged with a crime, bot by civilian authorities and the Marine Corps.

If it happened to anyone besides a vet, the Leftists would screaming about it's societies fault that those kids acted that way and we need to spend more money on social programs to fix the problem.

Threads like this give Liberals the oppurtunity to show how much they love our service members.

I would be ticked at the situation no matter who it was, but I feel more pity for the victims because they only have so much alone time.

Along with this, there was another story on Fox about this guy's brother dying of an accidental overdose in a military hospital. To me, a person who has multiple problems, gets more sympathy. This, however, doesn't mean that I think that the teenage hooligans should be treated any worse for any of this guy's problems. Those problems are just a part of life. I just personally feel bad for him and his family that all this is happening to them.

Now, I doubt there is any way to actually charge all the teens, including the girls, with anything (I'm not sure if they could get charged with conspiracy or not, if they were found to have actually been waiting for the couple, it would depend on the laws of the state/area and if there are age limits to who can be charged with those) but I do think that all of them should be punished. Hopefully, none of them will be allowed back at that theater ever, but even that might be a little hard to enforce, considering how many were involved. It certainly doesn't appear that at least some of their parents will be punishing them, considering some of those parents are defending their children.

They can all be charged with assault - and a few with assault and battery.

In my opinion, active duty service members should be permitted to carry a firearm at all times, similar to what law enforcement does.

I think that the girl who attempted to file assault charges against the marine should be prosecuted for filing a false report.

A deputy noted there was no bruising on Collins’ lip when the report was filed Tuesday.

I agree. I highly doubt that a marine or any grown man for that matter, could punch or even hit a 14 yo girl in the face, on purpose, and not leave some sort of mark at least, but most likely cause damage, including bleeding.

And I don't see why her parents would wait 3 days to say anything about it. Even if you believe the story that they are telling that the cops wouldn't pay attention to them that night due to the other arrests and the mob, then why didn't they report it first thing in the morning? I'm pretty sure police stations are open on Sundays.

It makes for a more interesting headline because of the fact they didn't have much time together and most people do have a soft spot for our military.
They kids ruined their evening. That's sad.
It also would have received attention if it was say, an older couple who were lovers in their younger days and just reunited after 20 yrs apart, and it was their first date. That wouldn't have anything to do with the incident either, but it would catch people's attention.
