Daily Mail said:
North Korea has again warned its southern neighbour to stop planned artillery drills on disputed islands and said it would launch two retaliatory strikes if it failed to comply.

South Korea has said it plans to carry out a 24-hour live-fire drill on Yeonpyeong Island sometime between Saturday and Tuesday, depending on weather.

Pyongyang, which claims ownership of nearby waters and has said it considers the drills an infringement of its territory, responded to similar firing exercises last month by shelling the tiny island.

In other news, Kim Jong Un eats Chilli Cheese Buritto, US picks up radioactive fallout from Pyongyang :2razz:

In all seriousness, North Korea needs to STFU or GTFO because they're just becoming a pest. Even China has had enough, the interesting thing will be if China pulls the plug on the regime, what will it do to survive, I believe it COULD try a war to stay relevent, let us hope it never comes to that.

I'm seriously beginning to question SK. Why are they having drills in disputed territory if they do not want war? It doesn't make any sense, especially sense you have a madman on the other side of your border, who, by the way, is armed with about ten nuclear weapons and isn't afraid to use them.

If North Korea wants to start shelling South Korea again, then I believe it's time to break out the GBU-43/B's, and reduce Pyongyang to a pile of rubble.

The folks living in Seoul might disagree with this plan due to the retaliation they'll receive from artillery fire.

What does North Korea really think it is going to accomplish? Attacking South Korea just isn't a winning situation for them.

if its disputed territory, SK should be conscious that it is inappropriate to engage in artillery drills there.

even in non disputed territories if it was close to your borders I think th eUS would be reacting pretty negatively.

lets say Fidel Castro says to Hugo Chavez, OK - you can practice military drills on the south of Cuba - right next door to Gauntanamo bay.

think the US would be happy?

you think they are acting alone?

I think the US is behind it.

I know that sounds like conspiracy but you have to look at the rhetoric on NK coming out of the US in recent years.

Apparently, the only entity that disputes Yeonpyeong Island and nearby waters is North Korea...

Yeonpyeong lies near the Northern Limit Line and is only 12 km (7.5 mi) from the North Korean coastline. The 1953 Armistice Agreement which ended the Korean War specified that the five islands including Yeonpyeong would remain under South Korean control.[6] North Korea subsequently respected the UN-acknowledged western maritime border for many years until around the mid-1990s.[7] However, since the 1990s North Korea has disputed the western maritime border, called the Northern Limit Line (NLL).[7] The North Korean government claims a border farther south that encompasses valuable fishing grounds (though it skirts around South Korean-held islands such as Yeonpyeong). North Korea's claim is not accepted internationally.[8]

lets say Fidel Castro says...
Let's say Castro says... the Florida Keys belong to Cuba. Simply because Cuba disputes ownership of the Keys does not in itself infer any validity to the claim.

True. I was recently reading this good Global Research article on it, here

More interesting than the North Korean threat to retaliate (nothing new here) is the sudden and urgent China and Russia responses. They had nothing to say after S. Korean ship was torpedoed by N Korea or when civilian areas were shelled. Now they get their panties in a wad? Over another threat from N. Korea?

Either of them, China or Russia, could fix the North Korean situation but they have always been the ones driving this conflict. They are the ones who helped N. Korea get nukes etc.

This is why I oppose the New START treaty. Russia and China are working together against the US and using pawns like N. Korea to do their dirty work because they know our allies won’t help militarily.
