WASHINGTON – No comment? No way. You don't stop Bill Clinton when he's back at the White House with something to say.
Well, OK. He and President Barack Obama, two of the most famous men in the world, did need a little help getting a door unlocked first.
But then it was on.

The former president came before surprised reporters to let it be known that he endorsed the tax deal that Obama cut with the Republican Party, even though many Democrats were raising a fuss about it.

That was the news. But it wasn't the story.

What had the West Wing buzzing was the scene itself: Clinton in his element, like he had never left. And almost like he wasn't going to leave this time.
For one remarkable half hour, Clinton turned a seemingly slow Friday afternoon into his stage.

What a difference a decade makes, folks. A decade ago, Bill Clinton was the personality most hated by Republicans. Today, they were allies. A decade ago, Democrats defended Clinton vigorously. Today, if Clinton were in office, it would most likely be the Democrats impeaching him.

What a difference a decade makes.

NOTE TO THE GOP - Be very careful not to get too close to Clinton. Word is, he is still a very horny guy.

Clinton is such an adept diplomat. For God's sake he went into North Korea and freed hostages. I miss Bill. I don't care who you are screwing as long as you usher in prosperity and peace! :D

My only major criticism of him is NAFTA and the 'race to the bottom'

bubba endorsed GEORGE BUSH'S TAX CUTS (for the rich!), it was the entire purpose

that's what happened outside the little box

and it's not REPUBLICANS who are cozying up to the cadge---LOL!

Obama exits, Clinton keeps talking - Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

Nobody owns the presidential podium like Bill Clinton, even in the Obama White House.

The former president, who stopped by the White House on Friday to meet with the current president and endorse his tax cuts deal with Republicans, held court for a half hour in the briefing room after President Barack Obama left to attend a holiday party in the residence.

Obama had barely left the room when Clinton rested his elbows on the podium and settled in. And once he was there he couldn’t get enough.

He fielded nearly a dozen questions, twice as many as Obama took during his briefing room press conference on Tuesday. He knew the reporters by name – calling out Ann Compton of ABC and George Condon of the National Journal with ease. Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, repeatedly tried in vain to rein him in. (“Gibbs will call ‘last question,’” Obama informed reporters as he left for the party.)

“Oh, I had quite a good time governing,” Clinton [observed]. “I am happy to be here."

Obama seemed to convey just the opposite feeling. He had met privately with Clinton in the Oval Office for over an hour before the two decided at the last minute to make an appearance in front of the cameras, but he stayed in the briefing room only about 90 seconds.

“I thought, given the fact that he presided over as good an economy as we've seen in our lifetimes, that it might useful for him to share some of his thoughts,” Obama said before turning the podium over to Clinton. “I'm going to let him speak very briefly, and then I've actually got to go over and do some – just one more Christmas party. So he may decide he wants to take some questions, but I wanted to make sure that you guys heard from him directly.”

“I've been keeping the first lady waiting for about half an hour, so I'm going to take off.”

“Well, I don't want to make her mad,” Clinton joked. “Please go.”

For a press corps obsessed this week with comparing Clinton and Obama, the contrast was right in front of them.

I don't know which of them looked worse.

Clinton just reminded me of what a bald-faced liar he is and how easily he does it with his mugging for the cameras. (Sen. Robert Kerry D Neb. ~" He's a really good liar")

But Obama, can't be bothered with this governing business because he has kept the gorgon waiting for 30 minutes......are you kidding me?

It was just pathetic.

Both ushered in more Republicans. Which ushered in prosperity. Let's hope the cycle repeats but the GOP take credit this time. The evidence of the last 2 years shouldn't be forgotten any time soon. (4 years actually)

No, the last 18 years. I won't be a hack and blame only the Democrats. Bush was horrible too.

4.6 employment rate prior to the Dem takeover of the house in 2006. Dow at 14,000

If that's horrible, what is Obama?

That began with Clinton. Of course, I could make stuff up too, and talk about how we had a budget surplus before Bush took office, and that the stock market slide began under Bush, but I am not going to BS anybody, and blame Bush for something that was beyond his control. Everything that we are now experience started with the evisceration of the Glass-Steagal act that was passed during the Great Depression. You should't be BS'ing people either. Obama did not create the mess. Democrats and Republicans during the Clinton administration did, and Clinton signed it. After that, it took a few years for the bubble to grow, but grow it did, and when it burst, the result was what we are seeing right now. Any other explanation is just hyperpartisan BS.

clinton ushered in war with Iraq. You call that peace?

Clinton gave us the end of 40 years of democrat control of the house. I'm grateful for that. But Obama and the democrats spending trillions in a matter of months, sent our economy into it's current nose dive. That's not BS. The polls in November proved it.

Guess what time it is, folks? It is political hackery time. I am now going to start a contest. Whoever comes up with the best piece of poltical hackery in this thread, wins a virtual cigar from me, on condition that they print it out and smoke it.

I will go first..... Oops, I mean second. Stealthy already posted his entry in this contest, and I must say, it is quite an impressive piece of political hackery, but I think I can do even better. But first, a word to stealthy - Polls don't determine what happened in history. If it did, then let me put this to you - A recent poll showed that most Americans cannot find France on a map. According to your logic, France doesn't exist (either that, or France has surrendered one time too many:mrgreen:).

OK, now I will go. I now present the NYSE chart for the years 2000-2010. Take a close look at when the slide began - It was in 2008, when Bush was still in office, and Obama had not even been elected yet. Notice that it's lowest point occurs right about the time Obama takes office. Now comes the hackery, and I hope everybody gives me good scores on this - AFTER Obama takes office, he takes decisive action, and the stock market rebounds, recovering most of it's losses. OMG - Obama is now the savior of the world. LMAO.

OK, who wins this round of political hackery, me or stealthy?

Let me jog your memory a little; he tired HillaryKare, she held secretive meetings with hundreds of pointy heads. He tried jamming leftist crap down our throats too. What was his very first move? Gays in the military. He had scandals right out of the box with the Travel office.

He wasn't a leader, but a pollster. Dick Morris lays out the case well.

As for what just happened... my Lord... is Obama lame or what? He leaves the stage for his wife, as the country is in crisis? As the Dems kicked him in the vagina?

I howled. This supposedly intelligent individual is a flat out pansy and a screw ball. A think skinned pansy and screw ball.

Obama had to bring Slick Willy in, to back him up on the tax deal?

This just goes to show what a ****ing joke and a loser Obama really is.

I love that man.. :)

Zimmer, Dick Morris lives up to his namesake and is a Dick. Just a saying

Like him or hate him, Morris revealed how Clinton operated. You didn't need to read Dick's book if you were around at the time.

I'm still baffled at the Junior President's actions. Abdication. Exiting stage left for cookies and milk because wifey is waiting. It is one of the most bizarro incidents I've ever seen in politics.

I will give you that: Dick knows how Clinton operated and loves to yell it to the world. He is a little punk that lacks loyalty and that is nothing to be proud of..

He was a political mercenary for a while... he knew how to win. Seems The Clintons finally pushed his buttons (especially Hillary) to the point he realized he needed to chose one side of the battle.

He's a pretty shrewd and astute political analyst. I enjoyed his look into the Clinton machine, and his insight is usually accurate; probably from having served both sides, and to maintain a level of credibility.

I dont believe I am saying this but I would rather have Bill Clinton as President than this sorry excuse we have now. As a matter of fact, I would welcome Clinton back with open arms. There is alot to can say about Clinton but never did I question his love or royality to this country like the excuse making, bowing down coward called Obama.

Not really interested in your "contest".

You actually help make my point that control of Congress is a key factor in the economic state of the country.

This is from a right leaning blog but has several charts and isn't just a shallow "well, Bush was still President" type of blather.

Proof: Democrats at Fault for the Recession

Have a nice day.

My Lord... Obama abdicates the throne to the sleaze ball Clinton and it is very, very quiet.
