JUNEAU, Alaska – A judge on Friday ruled against Republican Joe Miller's lawsuit challenging how Alaska counted write-in votes for rival Lisa Murkowski in their Senate race, delivering another setback to the tea party-backed candidate in his longshot legal fight.

For any other candidate attempting to steal an election, this would be the end of the line. Not Joe Miller, though. He intends to take it as far as the Supreme Court, which, IMHO, will laugh this out of court as rapidly as they did with the birther lawsuit. The grapes are very sour with this one, folks.

Article is here.

Joe Miller is so crazy. He wants to get rid of any social legislation and catapault us back into some 1800's industrial country. He's on record saying minimum wage is unconstitutional. Must be nice wearing those rose-tinted glasses all the time. He said something akin to, "If we abolish minimum wage then we can actually say its the free-market". Um, no thanks?

I could care less what the man's views are. What I do care about is the fact he is trying to steal votes and he is trying to abuse the legal system to do it.

Can you show which amendment says it is?

Where does the constitution forbid such a standard of living?

You've got it backwards.

At least, as I understand it.

The constitution forbids everything except what it explicitly states is acceptable for the government to be involved in.

Edit: So, the statement as I would say it would be "Where does the constitution allow for such?"

Well I'm not going to pretend I know where in the constitution it is. I could just pretend the welfare clause like most liberals. In all honesty im sure if the congress cared they could bring it to an amendment vote. However, there has been legislation passed in the 1990's that establishes it. I mean, if you wanted to you could go around crusading its repeal, but would that be ethical? It's a minimum wage for christs sake.

Although federal minimum-wage laws were at first held unconstitutional in the United States, a strong fight by organized labor for enactment culminated in the passage (1938) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. God bless the 30's?

just in this lame duck ms murkowski has voted with leader mcconnell on taxes, dream, dadt, michelle's food bill, unionization of safety workers, 250 dollar checks for social security recipients...

for what it's worth

I don't know either way, really.

I was just pointing out my general standards regarding constitutionality.

Now, min wage might very well be unconstitutional, but I highly doubt it will be eliminated any time soon.

I’ve heard arguments against it and arguments for it.

Personally, I think it’s too generalized – but meh.

I wonder why he doesnt have an D next to his name because this is a time honored tradition of democrats.

can't accept the fact that one of your own is a scumbag hey Heavy. And guess what? Babies are not from the cabbage patch either.

I would have to say this is typical of any politician who is a scumbag regardless of political affiliation. They exist in all parties. A R next a politician's name does not always mean a good guy and a D next to a politician's name does not always mean a bad guy.

Most politicians are like those televangelists and mega-church preachers(Rabi, cleric, Bishop or what ever other religious equivalent of a preacher). They are con artists who do not believe a word of what they say in order to get money and or power.

Not to mention wanting to defund Alaska into poverty. Alaska is the most subsidized US state. What happens when you cut all of those programs funding Alaska?
