The tax legislation that congressional Republicans and the White House have agreed to will include extensions of the biodiesel and ethanol subsidies through 2011, says Iowa. Charles Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee. The $1-a-gallon biodiesel subsidy, which lapsed at the end of 2009, would be retroactive to this year, he said.

Republicans generally liked that agreement, worked out by Obama and GOP leaders. Democrats generally didn't, hence the add-ons.

As of today, an extension of that subsidy was not going to be included, he said.

Actually, its a 10% increase, as their taxes were going to increase by 10%. If you were trying to be even half honest, you would at least look at their income after taxes, which with state taxes, FICA, etc., is barely half their pay to begin with.

What you endorse is voting yourself largesse paid for by others. That is not a winning solution. It also makes it rather hard for others here to take you, or any liberal who espouses this type of failure, seriously. You are for spending other people's money. You have essentially no skin in the game. Legal theft is all it is.

Our progressive framework is slanted enough against those who earn and produce. Raise everyone's taxes by the same percent of income, or raise no ones.

Last time I looked at my finances, I had lots of skin in the game,, but then I have seen my financial records and you will not.

What, you kept all your money instead of ssending more to the govt. so it will "help" the bureaucrats? Interesting. Can't help but notice how you run from the facts presented, i.e. that INCOME TAX revenue grew AFTER the JFK, Reagan, and GW Bush tax cuts. Left leaning individuals never like being challenged, do they?

I was once told that liberals want to spread their misery equally to everyone else. Ever seen a happy liberal and they are at their best when they are forcing someone else to send more of their own money to the govt. but only to fund programs they deem worthy. The highest deficit on record continues to thrend of this Administration. Wonder what that deficit would have been had Obama focused on allowing the private sector to put 16 million plus Americans back to work thus paying taxes?

Does seem like a reasonable question. You are promoting/insisting that others (top earners) pony up more cash and add more skin to the game.

We are all in this mess together. What additional contributions are you willing to make to help the cause??

If liberals were really concerned about fairness they would be talking about the 47% of the American income earners that didn't pay a dime in Federal Income taxes last year instead of worrying about taking more from the top 2%. Notice how proponents of higher taxes on the rich ignore that reality?

Interesting, I don't see a lot of happiness on the part of those on the left who are always complaining about fairness and what someone else makes or pays in taxes. Think that class envy signifies happiness?

Don't you think this is a pretty silly question to ask anyone? Let me claim that I send the IRS double of what I owe. That satisfies your challenge to me. But you have no way of verifying the information and can call me a liar. I am obviously NOT going to give you my personal tax information - a stranger on a message board - so we are right back to where we started before your challenge.

My comment refers to be both paying lots of taxes as well as the interest of a citizen in the laws and policies of my nation as they impact me and every other citizen.

Didn't call you a liar but it does appear that you support forced sending of someone else's money to the govt. instead of promoting volunteering sending more of your own money. Since when did the govt. become responsible for the duties required of charities? Like all liberals when challenged you make it personal. I really don't care how much you make or send to the govt. Why do you care how much someone else makes or sends? Seems you are concerned about the 2% top income earners and don't seem to care that when taxes go up that leaves less for charities. Just a little bit of information on charities.
