EU rescue costs start to threaten Germany itself

Actually I wasnt arguing about it.

You made an arguement, stated an opinion, thats what I meant. To you a conservative may mean one thing but to someone else it may mean something completly different, its pointless to argue labels is my point. You can argue about individuals or certain plans/policies but saying simply that "they aren't a real conservative" or "a conservative president would be better" is a meaningless statement.

Conservatives are for lower taxes, less spending, smaller government. Progressives want high taxes, more spending and bigger government.
Yes, I want a conservative president. 2012 can't come soon enough for me.

So what you are saying.. there has not been a conservative President or Congress since hmm Eisenhower?

It would be best if there were Conservatives in the House and Senate as well.

but there has not been for 60 years! Every administration pretty much and every congress pretty much, has pushed up spending and made government bigger and increased the deficit and debt. Hell Reagan almost tripled the national debt during his 8 years. There has not been a fisical conservative in the US congress or government for decades.. and those so called "conservatives" that were (many of them still there) have spent like drunken sailors in a whore house.. and more than often, MORE than their Democratic counter-parts.

There have been Republicans elected but that doesn't mean they are Conservatives. Many confuse the two, and you do it regularly.

An opportunity like BHO and the Democrats had to control the House, Senate and Presidency doesn't occur very often.

No I dont confuse them... it is the "Republican Party" that does and labels themselves as "Conservatives". And since they do label themselves as that, then they must some how embrace the conservative values, which they in 99% of the time do not. Hence there has not been a "real conservative" as by your definition since the 1950s and even then it is debatable. One thing is for sure.. Reagan was not a true conservative according to you.. and most of the Tea Party wackos elected wont live up to that label either since they already have folded on earmarks and other issues.

We'll see. If they continue to tax and spend like the Europeans then their future is in doubt. If the Tea Party can have a real effect on the Republican Party then perhaps there is a chance to recover.
