Which is possible - if not likely. But one can indeed craft a plausable explaination of the 57 state thing while the North Korea error is left hanging there like a giant matzo ball.

Palin's point is Obama got pass after pass for his gaffes, and he out-gaffed Biden during the election.
It was an attack by his journOlists in yet another attempt to discredit Palin. She simply took their momentum and attention and stuck it right back in their partisan hearts.

The explanation given by Obvious Child makes sense if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt. If you do not want to give him the benefit of the doubt then there is no way you can dig into his cranium and prove it one way or the other.

I tend to agree with you that he simply misspoke.

The American people want government cut, and the Dems are in utter disarray because the rats see no light at the end of any of their numerous tunnels:
