The Priest didn't die, the victim had some satisfaction and will stand trial for his assault, as might the Priest. Due process is not being ignored, nor is the Constitution or the 'law stuff'.

Yep, all the Priest got was an assault, a temporary hardship. I imagine he'll get over that pretty quickly. If there were any permanent damage, it would only be physical - a sociopath doesn't feel much emotionally.
