Sen. Patty Murray wins fourth term

Why did Al Gore insist that the military vote not be counted? Do the Leftists hate our servicemen so much, that their votes shouldn't count?
That, too! People who tout the National Opinion Research Center study as proof more people voted for Gore also fail to realize that scores of military votes were discarded because the postmark wasn't legible, the soldier forgot to sign, etc. - such votes were never given the "slightly dimpled, trace of a mark, corner slightly detached" treatment.

If SCOTUS didn't overturn the Florida Supreme Court decision which was to hand recount the entire state in 2000, Al Gore would have been president.

I suppose you think the SCOTUS decision to throw out the recount standard was 5-4, too.

I believe most honest people understand he won one of those elections

Patty Murray is one of the biggest morons in the senate BTW

Per Wikipedia:

".....In October 2002, Murray was one of 21 Democrats in the Senate to vote against the War Authoritization for invading Iraq. Quoted from her Senate speech:

'Mr. President, if we do take action in Iraq, there is no doubt that our armed forces will prevail. We will win a war with Iraq decisively, and, God willing, we will win it quickly. But what happens after the war? That will have as big an impact on our future peace and security. Will we be obligated to rebuild Iraq? If so, how? Our economy is reeling, our budget is in deficit, and we have no estimate of the cost of rebuilding. And with whom? As New York Times columnist Tom Friedman points out, there's a retail store mentality that suggests to some — if "you break it, you buy it.'...."

One of the most insightful, if not intelligent things said on the floor of the senate during 2002/2003. On that comment alone she shows herself to hold the intellectual curiosity, command of the issues and intestinal fortitude to be a good senator. At the very least she possesses more IQ points than the sum of that of Angle + O'Donnell.

Patty Murray going back to the Senate? Great news!

she's a low IQ lightweight-one comment she may or may not have actually thought up herself proves nothing. And I always have said ODonnell was a doofus.

Patty Murray and Nancy Pelosi.

I swear, you could run a monkey as a Democrat in those states and win. LOL

And, of course, the response is that a monkey would be a better choice than most of the Republicans that run.

Gee, wasn't that fun.

For those of you not from WA, Patty has a strong following in King county because of her work to make sure that Boeing had a shot at the USAF tanker to replace the KC135 rather than have the contract go to Airbus industries. As the old saying goes, "all politics is local" and this was/is a BIG deal.

WA is two states divided by the mountains. The west side is blue, east read. There were several counties in eastern WA that were 2:1 for Rossi but, with King county being 2:1 for Murray, she won.

apparently so for those who want a representative who is a peer:mrgreen:

true, if the SCOFLAW had granted Gorebot the relief he sought, Bush still would have beat him

the Dems screwed themselves by trying to extend the contest period and shorten the protest period and perhaps taking florida outside the safe harbor provisions for the electoral college

Actually, there are credible studies on BOTH sides that give different results. Some say Gore would have won. Others say Gore would have lost. Which study people believe is pretty dependent on whether they are Republican or Democrat. However, that skirts the main point. The kind of recount Gore was attempting to pull off was unconstitutional. He was attempting to throw out the overseas military vote, and in addition, by cherry picking only Democratic counties, he was throwing out the vote of Republican counties. This is why the Supreme Court stepped in, and rightly so. In their decision, which I admit was highly controversial at the time, SCOTUS cited the 14th Amendment. In hindsight, SCOTUS hit the nail squarely on the head. Although the 14th Amendment was originally passed in order to allow African-Americans to vote, it's application in Gore v. Bush was entirely appropriate.

Who would have won the election had Gore gotten away with his attempt to cherry pick the recount? Although there are 2 sides to the issue, each backed by credible evidence, we will never know, but we don't need to know. It is all conjecture, and we can argue who would have won all day. But the fact is that Gore cheated, and got caught. A wrong was righted. That is ALL we need to know, since this WAS the real issue here.

Here are more of her insightful statements regarding Osama bin Laden.

"We've got to ask, why is this man so popular around the world?" said Murray, according to the Vancouver Columbian newspaper. "Why are people so supportive of him in many countries that are riddled with poverty?"

Murray said, according to the Vancouver paper, that bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."

Yes, whenever anyone on the Left thinks of Osama bin Laden they immediately associate him with day care centers and health care facilities.

Al Gore didn't win in Florida even even with the voter fraud the Democrats pulled. It just came out that the whole B.S. story of the chads was caused because when you put more than one ballot in the slot at a time they create the problem and one at a time the is no such problem. Gore supporters tried and failed to steal the vote. Oops.

And thank God because Gore is almost as Anti-American as Obama, but is a total Environmentally ill S.O.B.

Make no mistake we are in fight for our lives and those who support Obama are our enemies, every bit as much as Obama is.

I don't hate Obama , only everything the Anti-American no good bastard stands for, I want to see Obama jailed for his failure to support America.

I would also include anyone who anyone who supports Obama in any way because they are also idiots who are also Anti-Americans.

Not all counties needed recounting. The Dems were trying to muddy the waters down there, and SCOTUS put a stop to it.
