Poll: GOP candidates top Obama in hypothetical 2012 race - CNN.com

In a hypothetical 2012 matchup, Huckabee leads Obama 52 - 44 percent, while Romney has a 50-45 point advantage, which is within the poll's sampling error. Obama holds a 49-47 percent margin over Gingrich.

The poll indicates that four in 10 have a favorable opinion of Palin, with nearly half saying they have an unfavorable view.

Romney has a 36 percent favorable rating and a 29 percent unfavorable rating, with 35 percent unsure.

Forty-two percent say they see Huckabee in a positive light, with 26 percent saying they hold a negative view and just over three in 10 are unsure.

Gingrich has 32 percent favorable rating, with four in 10 saying they have an unfavorable view, and 28 percent unsure.

CNN also conducted exit polls on Election Day in some of the states that vote first in the presidential primary calendar.

In Iowa, 21 percent of Republicans questioned as they exited the voting booth said that Romney was their likely choice in the 2012 Iowa caucuses, with Huckabee also at 21 percent, Palin at 18 percent, Gingrich at 7 percent and one in five saying they would support another possible candidate.

In New Hampshire, 39 percent of Republicans said that Romney is their likely choice in the state's primary, with Palin at 18 percent, Huckabee at 11 percent, Gingrich at eight percent and 19 percent saying they would back another possible contender.

Twenty-five percent of South Carolina Republicans say Palin would be their likely primary choice, followed by Huckabee at 24 percent, Romney at 21 percent and Gingrich at 10 percent.

Nominating Palin would just about guarantee Obama a second term.:(

Wishing Ms. Palin complete and total success in getting the GOP Presidential nomination in 2012. If it helps, I might even send her a few dollars. Her nomination would make me very very happy.

I think the GOP's best bet is a

Palin/Bachman
Palin/O'Donnel tickets.

They'd beat Obama for sure ;)

Be more astounding (Palin\Bachman ran and won.................

Palin has no intentions of running, she likes to keep the Dems wound tight like a spring............................

All women are like that :ninja:

Not that it's overly difficult, mind you ;)

I'd like to see Rubio on the ticket. with two years experience...he'd be more qualified than Obama was when he ran.

I think our best bet is to nominate a more moderate candidate and let Palin stump for them with the tea partiers. If we can have that happen, there's no way we won't win the White House back from that thug.

So you are willing to use Ms. Palin like so much kleenex for your own purposes and throw her away? WOW! I wonder how the former Alaskan governor will feel about that prospect?

she'd probably like it. she seemed quite comfortable campaigning for people this round.

I could see her getting an ambassadorship someplace in 2012 if she helps the eventual GOP winner enough.

which might be her goal. hardly "being used and thrown away".

If I had actually said that, you might have something resembling a point. As it stands, you are presenting fantasies that can simply be dismissed.

Lets hope huckabee gets it ^_^

Huckabee is a clown too-his bible thumping will turn off lots of us who want fiscal conservative government but tire of myths being used to restrict freedom

Boy are you folks in for a surprise. Sarah Palin is the type who is used to being on top and barking orders to those on the bottom. Those orders do not include her being subservient or making anyone elses dreams come true for them.

But you will learn.

Boy are you finding it hard to comprehend what you read. Sarah Palin has had no issue being a fundraiser and a stump speaker for various candidates. She's doing her time on the political circuit. That's not hard to see. I think she would be an asset to bring in her particular constituency and I think she knows that, too. She'll get her day but it ain't in 2012.

Because of the wide spread voter fraud no one will ever defeat Obama.

Reid was beaten in every poll before the election, and the exit poll should he could not win yet he did.

California, Azizona, and Neveada all allow illegal alien bastards to vote and if you question then you are in trouble.

SEIU and other Unions have people who manipulate voting machines.

Sarah Palin could beat Obama hands down in a fair and honest election, but the Obamedia and the left have have spent so much time lying about her and hiding the truth about her anything they do to manipulate the vote will be seen as and I told you so story.

A few facts i know about Palin. As soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's, "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now doing time in State prisons. Democrats were elated. Has there ever been another governor in this country that has ever done anything close?

With the CBC gone, there were few Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies. Sarah constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Other international oil companies fell in line. Again, whhat other Governor took names and kicked ass like this?

Sarah Palin took a list of Pork barrel spending aimed at the state and said no way and cut 85% of them by saying not on my watch.

There is so much more and you can see it all if you do you own research and stop relying on the retarded talking heads for information.

I want to know how anyone can learn anything when there head is firmly planted in their posterior up to the neck.

Oh that's right we're talking about Liberals they don't listen they do as they are told, because they can't think for themselves.

Promote the truth and facts because the Liberals can't deal with either.

Yeah well ths si true, but if it was between Obama, and Huckabee? Just sayin. :)

Huckabee is a bible thumper?

I wouldn't read too much into 2012 polls yet. There's still two years to go. Even a strong Republican candidate will lose if the economy is doing well, and even a weak Republican candidate could win if the economy is still bad.

As for the RELATIVE strength of the Republican candidates...I would say that Chris Christie is probably the strongest candidate. Mitt Romney could be strong too, if he runs on his strengths instead of trying to be something he's not, which I think was his mistake in 2008. Mike Huckabee could probably do well. He comes across as being plain-spoken without being an idiot.

The weakest candidates are probably Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich.

absolutely, he doesn't even believe in evolution.
Oh ok, so now, you don't even have to be forcing anything down anyone's throats, and you are still a bible thumper.

Is there any way you can be a christian and NOT be a bible thumper?

No.
