Poll: GOP candidates top Obama in hypothetical 2012 race

I think our best bet is to nominate a more moderate candidate and let Palin stump for them with the tea partiers. If we can have that happen, there's no way we won't win the White House back from that thug.

Dream On as even the idiots in Tea Party are starting to understand that Palin is a joke

huckabee is a former baptist minister

obama is typically clueless and incoherent

Obama calls for compromise, won't budge on tax cuts - TheHill.com

now that obama had his obnoxious ass handed to him, everyone's wondering whether he will emulate the great clinton, triangulate and move to the center

those who speculate so reveal very little awarness of obstinate obama, the man

first, he doesn't even understand what's happening to him, he's completely out of touch, tone deaf and doesn't get it

but even if he did he is characteristically incapable of changing course, it's his dna, he is hardwired to do no other than what he's done so far

that is, cram health care over the expressed and anxious opinions of the citizens, sue the people of arizona for finally taking action in a field that is at bottom HIS responsibility, try to move ksm to manhattan, back the building of a mosque at ground zero even tho it profoundly offends the sensibilities of the overwhelming majority of NEW YORKERS

this is a man, keep in mind, who once told us all to rat out our neighbors for expressing fishy thoughts, essentially told americans who disagree with him to shutup, questions repeatedly the perspicacity of the electorate who recalcitrantly refuse to see things his way, insults us all by suggesting that we don't like his leviathan moby dick because it hasn't been presented properly to all the knuckle draggers and neanderthals...

Christie!!!!

Tim-

Sorry to trash the dream. Christie just said on Meet the Press that he will not be running in 2012. He was pretty adament about it.:(

Oh ok, so now, you don't even have to be forcing anything down anyone's throats, and you are still a bible thumper.

Is there any way you can be a christian and NOT be a bible thumper?

No.

Romney is a Christian, but not a Bible thumper. He is the only one of the names mentioned in the OP that I'd be willing to vote for, personally. He has experience with financially troubled institutions, and the federal government is the biggest financially troubled institution in the world.

A Palin nomination would be great for Democrats and political humorists. Gingrich has way too much baggage. Huckabee is pretty extreme.

But, it is most likely that the GOP candidate will be none of the above anyway.

I could see her getting an ambassadorship someplace in 2012 if she helps the eventual GOP winner enough.

She's be a great energy czar. Drill Baby Drill!

She's be a great energy czar. Drill Baby Drill!

Maybe she could convince people that there is a veritable lake of oil just under our feet, if only the wacko environmentalists would step aside and let us drill.

Then, we could make her the health care reform czar, and she could take care of those death panels.

Huckabee is a clown too-his bible thumping will turn off lots of us who want fiscal conservative government but tire of myths being used to restrict freedom

Yea, I'll be very disappointed if he runs and wins. We need someone fresh and new. Someone who will think outside the box to get us off the path we are on. Hopefully we will have made some progress in that direction by 2012.

Boy are you folks in for a surprise. Sarah Palin is the type who is used to being on top and barking orders to those on the bottom. Those orders do not include her being subservient or making anyone elses dreams come true for them.

But you will learn.

I think you have Palin all wrong. She wants what is best for the country and if that means getting someone better than her into office, she'll do it. I think the only way she will run is if the ones throwing their hats in the ring are not conservative enough. That's not likely to happen now that the people are finally engaged.

exit polls say women voted republican for the first time in the history of exit polls, going back to 1950

a 17 point female swing away from the party of pelosi/obama

the crucial catholic constituency similary careened crazily 21 points my way since 08

independents came around by 36!

low earners (under 40K) and hi earners (over 200), urbans and rurals, voters in the northeast and west---obama the magnificent managed the impossible, UNITING all these disparate interests in OPPOSITION to the obnoxious

do you think this is SPIN?

from the times?

seniors comprised their biggest slice of the electorate since 1982

and you know how gramma and grampa mumble against obamacare

but no worries---obama tells 60 minutes tonite that what he's learned outta all this is, "leadership isn't just legislation, it's a matter of persuading people, giving them confidence, bringing them together, setting a tone..."

LOL!

how old were YOU when you first appreciated that success in american politics starts with sensitivity to the voters?

well, it's NEWS to barack hussein

what an idiot

Yeah well ths si true, but if it was between Obama, and Huckabee? Just sayin. :)

Tim-

We won't need to settle for Huckabee. I don't think Rep. will have to hold their noses again like they did in "08 for McCain. I think the people have had enough of choosing the lesser of two evils.

I'm not shocked that the polls look the way they do following a big Republican victory. That said, I would hope fellow GOP voters think twice before putting Palin or Gingrich on the ballot. That would be a very unwise move indeed.

agreed-the public perception of Palin is an intellectual lightweight

the public perception of Newt is a an arrogant know it all

neither wins against Obama

Palin would never run for office, she's tried that before as part a VP candidate and it turned into a disaster. Although I know the 2008 campaign turned into her coming out party, there's no denying that she's turned off millions of people to the McCain/Palin ticket.

Palin is best suited to exactly what she's doing now, being pretty, being folksy, and rallying people but never actually having an official position in either the Republican Party, or an actual political office. Besides she's making more money than she has in her life by being exactly that person, she'd have to give it all up to lose to Obama.

Lets hope huckabee gets it ^_^

Not me. No way. I was supporting Huckabee in the last election cycle, until he announced that, if elected, he would change the Constitution for Jesus. That killed my support for Huckabee forever. If Huckabee wants a theocracy, let him move to Iran. But none of that crap here. This is America.

As much the idiot that Palin is, I would take her over Huckabee any day.... Wait, is death by flatulence an option here?

Of course, I will be supporting Ron Paul again. Since he now has a supporter in the Senate, he might get 3 votes instead of 2 this time. LOL. But seriously, Ron Paul is still the real deal, and the only true "old-fashioned" Conservative in the field. If he decides to run again, I would consider it an honor to tilt at windmills with him.

Palin, like most other political figures, has an enormous ego and a lot of ambition. Regardless of what it would mean to the GOP or her career, I can tell she's definitely intrigued by the possibility of being the nominee (shopping spree!). I don't think one can assume, based on what we've seen thus far, that she is perfectly satisfied with what she's got.

I'd like to see Rubio on the ticket. with two years experience...he'd be more qualified than Obama was when he ran.

Rubio/Jindal. Now, that would be a ticket.

One thing, for sure, the Libbos wouldn't be able to scream, "racism", at every turn.

Ultimately, I think Obama should worry less about which Republican he has to trun against and worry more about which Democrat he has to run against.

You now not to change topics but I hear you complain about being called a racist a lot, but I've never actually seen anyone do it here.

I think the GOP's best bet is a

Palin/Bachman
Palin/O'Donnel tickets.

They'd beat Obama for sure ;)
Right now anyone can beat Obama. I say lets run a fool and a idiot and they are better suited than Obama to run the country. Brighter too.

Rubio would be too inexperienced (just as Obama was in 2008) to be President, I also don't like the idea of stifling a lot of potential by putting him on the ticket as vice-president.

On this thread, maybe. But, this is only my second post, too. Give it a chance.

I meant ever. And I mean specifically being called a racist for not being an Obama-manic.

I recall people calling you other things myself included but I don't recall anyone calling you a racist.

Then, you obviously haven't been paying attention. You and Wiseone, both. However, why this thread is suddenly about me, I dunno.
