Membrane? What membrane? I know of research suggesting differences in the corpus callosum, which is the connective brain tissue between the two hemispheres, but never any "membrane." In fact if you truly "separated" the two halves of the brain, you get some very strange (and interesting) behavior, like there are two different people.

LOL Surgery is not proof. Plenty of disturbed people go under the knife. It only makes the entire thing more sad.

not so. a ton of counseling along with dr approval is necessary before people can have that surgery. read a little. it's good for you.

Actually I have quite a bit. When you can show me the medical evidence of a chemical imbalance and not some mental issue with this girl you let me know :)

I don't think transgendered people really care whether you and your ilk approve or not. The bottom line is that the kids voted for this. Homecoming is supposed to be in the spirit of fun and the school turned it into a political issue.

Pretty neat how adults **** it up for the kids like this. Now all the kids are going to remember for the rest of their lives is how the parents totally took a dump all over something that was supposed to be fun.

Thats exactly what this girl forced it to be. She did not have to run as a boy. She made it a political issue and you know it.

Kids would vote for pot in class if given the opportunity. You do realize these are not adults and this is not a public election right?

not the point. of course, you know that, and are attempting to cloud the issue. btw, i believe there are some studies that look at chemical differences in transgendered people.

As I said and have said many times before, there is an extreme minority of people in this world born with a chemical imbalance or both sex organs and those are legitimate areas. But accepting the word of this girl is beyond ridiculous.

I see you missed the point entirely. The kid's voting for a girl doesn't mean you change the rules to accommodate the ridiculous outcome the kids provided.

They certainly don't. And from what I've read, in many cases they require many sessions of psychological counseling before such a surgery is even permitted.

Electing a girl as homecoming king has nothing to do with open minds and everything to do with bucking authority. It's what teenagers do. And we let them. This whole thing is ridiculous. And then here comes the ACLU. Freakin' joke. Is it any wonder that kids are in a state of shock when they join the real world??

Because adults make the stupidest issues over things like this. Just let the kid be the homecoming king. In a few years no one will even care about it, much less remember it.

Ah, so I take it you've interviewed all of the students and found out their actual reasons for doing so? There's absolutely no reason to suggest what you are asserting here. How do you know that this student isn't popular?
