Colbert Offers Comedy Shtick in Farm Workers Testimony, Fails to Amuse Lawmakers

It was a desperate attempt by the Democratic Party. Youth voting is an oxymoron.

I don't think it's fair to tar the whole party with this. Hoyer and Conyers were pretty up front about their opposition.

yes, this incident paints up the total cluelessness of LEADERSHIP, the membership is in growing revolt

look at obama's week

1. dadt went down in flames due to whimpy leadership and cynical, incompetent floor management

2. the woodward book came out showing the president is sacrificing heroic lives in HIS WAR for purely petty political purposes

3. the bush tax cuts were simply NOT GOTTEN AROUND TO---in times like these

4. the mideast peace talks with hrc playing the hi profile spielberg part went down in disgrace

5. obama announced his open door at the un, the delegation then walked out on his negotiation partner, the next day obama expressed surprise at ahmedinejad's hatefulness

6. the georgetown townhall became a "therapy session for disillusioned obama supporters" who expressed exhaustion from defending him

7. the white house staff is jumping ship like the dude on the titanic who put on a dress

8. new york, massachusetts, west virginia, connecticut, new hampshire and maine are showing major movement in the polls, all reddening

9. the clintons showed signs of making their move

10. and stephen colbert exposed leadership's complete out-of-touch-ness, as if they're orbiting uranus

no wonder the house, senate, gubs and state assemblies are going the direction they're going---in serious times like these

no wonder traffic in this forum is at a near standstill, there's hardly anything left to debate

it's all so transparent

party on, progressives, seeya at the polls

you still active appear un-embarrassable

it is what it is, a total waste

No country in the world has a GDP as large as ours, although I'm not trying to minimize the problem and obvious danger of having a 100 trillion dollar deficit.

But it would take almost 9 years of savings that GDP to pay off those unfunded liabilities. The size of our economy doesn't bother me as to the size of the liabilities. It is our unwillingness to do what is necessary that bothers me. The GOP refuses to raises taxes. The Democrats refuse to cut spending. And the public will not stand for the type of austerity measures Europe is finally getting around to. That combination spells real problems down the line. A $13 trillion economy won't save us when we won't do what is necessary.

Partisan hacks here attack Obama yet fail to realize if Bush and Obama had added exactly Zero dollars to the debt and deficit, we'd still be utterly boned.

sure, our govt is serving us just swell, our state and national mechanisms are swimmingly, and nothing is as bad as 1787...

LOL!

You mean when British Troops occupied DC and burned the White House to the ground?
You mean when British ship enslaved American sailors?
You mean when much of the country was in the hands of the King?

Yeah that was worse. Stop being a hack for once.
