'Don't ask, don't tell' repeal in doubt

You'd still get popped by the military.

Now what was it you said about picking and choosing which regs to follow?

Oh yeah:

Glass houses my right wing friend.

There has never been a case in the history of the Navy where a member was charged in a situation like this..........try again.................

The rules of the military say that you can be charged with adultery as a single man sleeping with another man's wife. Just as a friend of my husband's found out the hard way.

Never heard of a case of a service member being charged with it.....................Hell you can chaarge a guy if goes on the beach and cohabits with a prostitute...........Never happen.....

You guys are really fishing now...................

I might add that Article 134 of the UCMJ is a General article that covers anything that has slipped by the other articles of the UCMJ...............

Really:

She's not alone — the Air Force's first female bomber pilot, 1st Lt. Kelly Flinn, was charged with fraternizing with an enlisted airman, adultery with the civilian husband of an enlisted woman, and disobeying orders to stay away from the men.

Should the law punish adultery? - CNN

It does happen NP. I personally know someone who was busted for it from E-3 to E-1. He was single, the woman was a civilian married to another Marine.

Of course there are exceptions to every rule but they are very rare...........I myself have never seen a case prosecuted where and enlisted man or woman were involved unless it was between and enlisted person and an officer where fraternization takes place and that is verboten............

and therein lies the hypcrisy and double standard. Glad that you pointed it out and agree.

And why does that law exist?

There are gays in America, gays in the military, gays in Congress, gays in Russia, and yes, even gays in the Middle East. The sooner we recognize that fact, then the sooner we can begin tackling REAL issues, for a change.

And now, for a gay military moment:

Navy just fgured it out!

To try to offer an alternative to shooting your "buddy" after finding out he just slept with your wife? I can actually think of couple of good reasons for this rule, although it is pretty out of date everywhere else and should never be more than ammunition for/in a divorce in the civilian world. Although, considering this only applies if the guy/girl sleeps with someone else's wife/husband, not girlfriend/boyfriend or even fiancee or if they cheat on their spouse, it really isn't applied very fairly.

I doubt there are too many people who would not admit that there are some military-only rules that are reasonable and may have foundation. The rule against gays serving openly isn't one of them. There are already gays serving in the military. In order to defend your stance, you need some sort of proof, studies, evidence, something, that shows where gays serving openly in the military actually affects the military readiness. There are other militaries that allow gays to serve openly. And there are places in our military where gays serve fairly openly (although I'm sure in these, a lot of those guys/girls fear it everytime there is any change in their chain of command). DADT means that you don't have to turn in someone for saying they're gay. And even if someone is turned in, it is up to the higher ranks of a person's coc whether they are even investigated for it. The problem is those gays who feel somewhat secure that as long as they do their job, it is okay to be open due to the current climate at their commands, shouldn't have to fear that the next change in the higher ranks of their command could mean having to go back into the closet just so that they don't get kicked out, even when they are doing their job and not violating any other rules.

As I've stated many times before in such discussions, if I can talk about who I love while at work as a heterosexual, then they should be able to do so to, without ever having to worry about the possibility of getting kicked out just for doing so.
