It's a scientific theory, one that has plenty of evidence. What's it being passed off as? It's a scientific theory backed by measurement. Some may want to use it to preclude faith, but some creationists use creationism to preclude science. So what's the difference? In the end, most people understand enough of evolution and the measurements to know that it has occured on some level. We may not know all the dynamics behind it at this time; but it is clear that it happened. There's no real point in denying it.

But it makes sense for different reasons. One (creationism) is a completely personal belief based on preference and no data. Evolution, however, makes sense because it describes the observables.

Well lots of people will deny evolution, particularly some of the more extremist religious nuts who shouldn't be running for office. The two are not exclusive which is why I don't understand why people have to deny evolution. It seems really stupid to me.

It's not trying to "distract" things. Her masturbation comments are symptomatic of a larger problem: a candidate who may be far too socially conservative to be acceptable to the majority of voters. I say "may be," because I don't buy these clips of her speaking as proof of such. They were a long time ago. Just watch the videos, she was very young then. What, 14 years ago? I was pretty stupid 14 years ago too. Her response was that she was very young and very excited about her new faith. I find that to be a reasonable explanation, they say there's nobody as zealous as a convert. If she has honestly grown up and matured, and she can provide evidence that her social extremism has tempered with age, I'm able to accept that and I expect that most of Delaware's voters would as well. (although I'd still never vote for her, as she's on the other end of the political spectrum even if she's not quite as far right as she used to be)

Creationism is a literal misinterpretation of OT stories. The OT stories on the nature of man and his relationship with his creator came from the early oral tradition of the Jewish tribes. Like any great story, there is a lot 'truth' revealed about how the people of that time saw their God. Stories tell us much about the time, the people, and first tribes and their traditions.

But they have very little value in terms of biology, carbon dating, and an historical timeline of planet earth.

I just love how some 29 pages has been devoted to attempts to shred this woman in every aspect from personal views, and beliefs from over a decade ago, to those supposedly in her own party on the establishment side ripping her is doing something wrong for winning the primary.
