Pentagon: No Plans to Change 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Policy After Court Ruling

Well firstly, there has been so study... Its just a fact, try and find a DoD study, it doesn't exist. And since there is no study which makes any conculsion on the relation of homosexuality the military, all statements about how gays will serve has no basis either.

Now its natural to assume that gays have been in the military since this nation was founded, as gays have existed much longer than that in recorded history. However thats not really important, whats really important is the fact that gays serve today. Now of course we don't know whos gay and whos not gay while they are serving, however we KNOW gays are currently serving in the military because the military is constantly finding and removing them!

As for the rest, its observational, but I'd be damned if you find an arguement where someone actually says "I can't serve with them" rather than "Someone else can't serve with them"

So, you don't have a credible source? IOW, our anecdotal evidence is really the only thing there is to go on.

The entire basis for my arguement is that there is no source supporting what you say is true regarding gays in the service. I just brought that fact and others to what I consider a logical end.
So what specifically in my posts do you want a source for?

No other source, besides the veterans on this forum, plus the commandant of the Marine Corps. But, we're all just a bunch of bogits and racists. Am I right?

BTW, looks like the DoD didn't cow-tow to the 9th Circus, as preidcted.

You guys make me glad civilians are in command of the military. :)

That would be anecdotal evidence and opinion. And what about the veterans who don't support DADT?

What, you expect him to find a credible source with proof there are no sources?

I personally hope that Congress repeals this.

The Navy seems like an attractive option once I finish grad school.

It's either that or 10 years of public service work at a subsistence income.

Here ya go.

RAND Research Brief | Changing the Policy Toward Homosexuals in the U.S. Military

Of course, we both know you don't give a **** about credible studies.

Damn that Constitution!

It's funny watching text parroting the same facetious jab thrown his way many times.... except in this case, it makes no sense.

It's as if he doesn't understand his own post...

'damn the constitution'??

:2funny:

The veterans on this forum don't all agree with you. Speak for yourself, as many of the vets here think not only is DADT repeal coming, but that it will work.

Dude, If you are thinking of joining the navy..why bother finishing grad school? go ahead and apply. if you get picked up then the Navy will pay for you to finish your grad degree.

I'm gay. I'm not going to join the mlitary while there is a risk of people finding out and then kicking me out. If DADT didn't exist, then I very likely would have joined before I began grad school.

Bottom line is the votes are not there in the Congress to repeal DADT...People are up for reelection in November in red states and it would be suicide to repeal the law. Thank God for that....

Activist judge = one who rules in a way you do not like.

By the way, no one has claimed to my knowledge that this meant an immediate change or was the end of any process. Nice try though.

Good god, Redress...will you give people a chance to? The Constitution sucks, and everyone on the left knows it.

That is really neither here nor there if a law is ruled unconstitutional.

Because some activist left wing judge says it is does not make it so..........

It does make the law unconstituoinal legally though.

Now go stamp your feet and say activist judge a 1000 times and see what happens.

Actually, several republicans have indicated they could support it next year when the DoD/Pentagon study is done. If it does not pass this year(which experts are saying is 50/50), it probably will next.

Please show how this judge is activist in her ruling. Bet you can't...

I know the truth hurts you lefties but live with it....Why do you think DADT hasn't been overturned already DUH!!!!!!!

Get ready Navy....this is just a small wave on the bow of the ship....you are going to get blown overboard when the real waves start rolling in.....

You don't have the votes now when you control both the senate and the house and you damn sure won't have the votes after November when the Republicans take over both houses..........
