DOJ investigating at least 5 anti-Muslim acts

I've seen a variety of Islam's detractors on this forum push aside Christianity's brutal past on the basis of it being "ancient history," then turn around and bring up Islam's "ancient history."

There is a reason for that ya know. Christians yes, have some bad history to account for. But the Religion as a whole, moved past that CENTURIES ago.

Islam, never has had such a moment, and much of the same thinking and attitudes that caused blood shed in the 12th Century still causes blood shed today.

I figure you're aware of this, but you're just not being honest about it.

I've explained many times why there's never been an Islamic reformation. None of Islam's detractors seem to give a damn about the truth, so I've stopped explaining it -- but that doesn't mean it's no longer the truth.

I know you're aware of this, but you're just not being honest about it.

Crimes associated with Abortion Clinics
Murders @ Clinics – 8 in a 32 year period
Assaults @ Clinics – 17 in a 32 year period
Bombings and arson concerning Clinics – 221 in a 32 year period

As long as you're keeping count, V, don't forget Christian Identity and Pro-Life Christians... all extremists.

McViegh was working with Nichols who had ME ties.

Nice try.,

And Abortion killers are idiots and should be tossed into prison.

Here is the way I see it: If you want to be a bigot, that's your business. Even bigots have rights in America. But take it to the next level by committing or inciting violence, then you belong in prison.

Kudos to the FBI for launching these investigations, and for those who don't believe there will be justice here, you are dead wrong. The FBI has already, in the last year, successfully prosecuted the torching of a mosque in Tennessee, the torching of an African-American church in Massachusetts, and the spray painting of threats on a Jewish Synagogue in Alabama. More prosecutions are coming, and may those who are convicted of hate crimes pay the severest penalty available under the law.

Significance being what, other than misdirection?

I don't think anybody here is saying otherwise about Muslim extremists, just pointing out that they're not the only extremists.

I frankly think hate crime laws are an abomoniation. Their only purpose is to make witch hunts, political pandering and political assasination legal. People get victimized every day for the most trivial of reasons. I frankly think people who kill someone because they don't like the way they were looked at deserve more scrutiny and time in jail than someone that does it for "hate". Most crimes are "hate" crimes of some type or another. Arrest the man for stabbing the cabbie and let the judge and jury decide if his motive derserves more consideration for sentencing.

You should be ashamed of yourself....for being dishonest. You can't intellectually make such a comparison.

You keep equating Christian past with Muslim present. Then vs. now. If you want to compare Christian to Muslim, compare past to past, present to present.

Lol...You might as well fault the Spaniards for absurdly low technology because they sent Columbus across the ocean in a leaky wood ship that took two months and we can fly across the Atlantic in hours.

Bull****. Christianity ended its crusades half a millenia ago, Islam is still stuck in the 12th century. Christianity went through a bloody Reformation that led to a more tolerant, enlightened civilization. Islam is still stuck in the 12th century. Christian clerics stopped calling for blood en mass centuries ago. Islamic clerics are still stuck in the 12th century.

If you think the two religions are morally equivalent and equally mature, then you are in serious need of a head examination.

Damn, I keep forgetting. White Christians stopped lynching Black Christians in the 12th Century. Thanx for reminding me of that.

What the hell is wrong with white people? Damn peckerwoods.

I find the "Moral equivalence" game leaves a one with the taste of bile in ones mouth.

Uh, no, the comparison I keep making is that Christianity and Islam both have a violent history.

I'm not saying either one or both is okay, just looking for some parity in how they're perceived. That's not moral equivalency.

Does the FBI get involved with every murder and arson case? If not, why should they get involved just because the victims happen to practice a certain religion?

Hate crime bull**** disgusts me. As if someone is more special because of the color of their skin or what religion they choose to practice.

The FBI "investigates" anything shiny.

They can't actually do anything unless they somehow uncover an interstate conspiracy to do bad things.

good thing that we have defeated racism and that it plays no part in the objections to this administration. i was worried there for a while.

I agree with your thoughts on this subject and I would add that we need to be ever vigilant when it comes to keeping tabs on any group that claims to be somehow an origination of peace, yet at their core are teachings that not only allow murder and the subjugation of others, but promotes it as well as doing anything necessary to hide your true intentions from any potential intended victims.

I'm afraid that cries for tolerance these days go too far and could leave us open to a very rude awakening because there are often exploited as a weakness.

I agree -- we should definitely be keeping a close eye on the government.

I would suggest that, should we choose the path of intolerance, then we should include Pat Robertson and his ilk as well. It is only because of American justice hanging over his head that he cannot get away with the same things that the Iranian Mullahs are getting away with.
