Anyone who would repeatedly sit in Jeremiah Wright's church and listen to that spewed gutteral hatred willingly, week after week, could not possibly believe in anything worth believing in.
assuming the hatred was spewed week after week. which we can't.
I didn't realize I'd need statistical data to make this assertion. I thought it would have been obvious to everyone that the majority of these people would be Fundamentalist Christians.
I don't expect there to be a study of the religious preference of Birthers...

LOL, you'll defend anything. "God Damn America!!" I guess if you only say it once, it's okay.
I'd bet "Jesus" is a rare topic in that tax-free hate shelter.
Do you know what an appeal to emotion is?
No, please spin your intellectual mastery around this abortion of a man and enlighten me.
If only someone would conduct a study that would ask people whether they thought Obama was a Muslim and then cross-reference that by their various affiliations, breaking it down in excruciating detail...

white evangelical protestants.....more than any other religious group. no surprise there.

not defending anything. just letting you know that assumptions aren't facts.
The results of this poll are alarming. It's kind of hard to believe that there are that many paranoid and ignorant people in this country. Though, just for the sake of argument...let's say he is Muslim. And...? Who gives a ****?
i hear 1 in 5 Muslims think Obama's American
If he were (he isn't, but just for argument's sake) he would have been extremely dishonest about it
Honestly this is the way I look at it, I wouldn't say people are stupid just misinformed no matter what the religion. Look at the guy's name for God sakes. It's very spicy and with just a hint of hummus. If his name was Barry Harold Orville do you think anyone would think he was Muslim at all? While I am just going to make assumptions like the rest of you here is mine: there are two kinds of people that believe he is muslim, the ones that are generally just misinformed and only really follow politics around election time (if that) and then the ones that are informed but are just generally on the fringe.
I'l be honest here: I wish Obama would simply *come out* as a Muslim.
Americans will *accept* him and his religion. Conservatives, liberals and independents would readily accept his choice.
But what Americans will NOT accept is a man that grew up Muslim, calls himself a Christian, but lives his spiritual life as an agnostic.
1 in 4 think he's Muslim .... 1 in 10 Democracts think he's Muslim. Can you blame them?
* He bows to the King of Saudi Arabia during his state visit.
* He told the NYT that the sound of the Islamic "call to prayer was the prettiest sound in the world."
* He does not go to church - he has no "home church" in D.C.
* He jettisoned Rev. Wright when Wright's anti-Semitic comments became "politically toxic."
* He calls Christ's Sermon on the Mount, "the most outrageous statement I have ever heard" - angering *millions* of Christians.
* He supports the Ground Zero Mosque.
All that added up = Obama is a Muslim.
The American people are not stupid: they know where Obama's heart is. Its in Mecca.
I have absolutely no problem with that, Barack.
But GET A SET OF BALLS and COME OUT as a Muslim.
Be honest with yourself, your wife, your spiritual life and your God, whoever that may be.
I would probably bow to the King of Saudi Arabia during his state visit.
