Ground Zero Mosque On The Move?

mr rauf, if you are sincere in your stated desire to improve relations with your neighbors, then listen to them, show them a little respect and sensitivity for their heartfelt sentiments, even if they appear uncomprehensively alien to you

otherwise, you can never achieve your purported goal

it's very simple

didn't your mom teach you about the human heart?

it's your move

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

nonsense, muslim americans are beautiful people, gorgeous families, lovely and loving children, i've known a hundred, students in my math classes

i have no problem with this mosque

personally, since you're so interested, i'm enjoying the show

SEVENTY ONE PERCENT OF NEW YORKERS are the folks so put out by mr rauf's project

so much so, in fact, it will never see a brick laid

worst of all worlds for our woebegone white house, once more---all the pain, no gain

party on!

Hi, I am half Turkish, and half my family is Muslim.

How would you feel if your community started protesting your religion building a place of worship? Would say.. ohhh it reached 71 percent, I must do what they say now?

I just asking.. put yourself in the other guys shoes. Yea, you had some Muslims in your class or whatever, but what about how they really feel.. is it fair?

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

With all the Mosques in NY why are they knowingly causing this hurt and Controversy. I have seen this man on TV and I think he is a lying piece of do do

They are not trying to hurt anybody.. they want to heal as much as everybody else in the community. The victims of 9/11 are not all non Muslim you know.

Furthermore, people who knowingly try to hurt others don't have their speech removed. That is why those God Hates the Troops people have the right to go wave those signs around in the faces of families at the funeral procession of dead soldier's.

nice to meet you, give your family my best

i'd have to if i were sincere about trying to improve relations

if i didn't relations could only possibly worsen, i would necessarily fail to fulfill my stated goal

It seems people are getting a little tired of Muslims "feelings", SheWolf. especially when Muslims consistently ignore the feelings of others.

Islam has rightly been called "The Religion of Perpetual Outrage" but they might just as well be called "The Religion of Magnified Sensitivities".

Why not become adult and recognize that Americans don't want a Mosque that close to the site of 9/11 and go to one of the other hundred plus mosques in NYC? Muslims continue to look for problems where none existed before. No good will come of it.

The majority of Muslims are not terrorists, just as the majority of Christians are not tea partiers.

Did you know there were two mosques in the WTC? Did you know that 60 Muslims were killed in WTC? Don't you think their loved ones care just as much as the other 9/11 families? Why was it and continues to be ignored?

Stop right there You do not speak for this American.

tell it to the 71% of new yorkers with whom relations continue NOT to improve

oh, yeah, that's right...

you already did

this discussion just aint progressin' no more...

it's your move, mr imam

build!

there's only one thing worse than being a literally DEAF relations improver

and that would be being boorishly boring AND a literally deaf relations improver, y'know, at the same time

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

Isnt it amazing? The right reads a few bits from JihadWatch and suddenly they're all experts on the Koran. LOL

Keep assuming...

The majority of Muslims are not terrorists, just as the majority of Christians are not tea partiers.

Its quite probable that 10-15% are actively engaged in terror, of the remaining 90%, 85% are either too afraid, too apathetic or too sympathetic to actually do something about it. The remaining percentage *may* actively voice their opinion against the terrorizing 15%, but are silenced, or are ostracized for what they say and do.

You see, you can't simply say, "Lets open a dialog with them." Or "Our message doesn't penetrate deep enough." Oh, they hear your message. The majority of muslims - the 80% - hear it clearly enough. Its just that they choose to ignore it - either out of apathy, fear, or hate. The problem doesn't lie with the West's lack of effort. The problem lies with the muslims' lack of will.

Before you can even start to have a dialog with the muslim world, you need to eradicate/eliminate/annihilate the top 10% of the terrorizing 15%. Only then will the civilized world have a chance to be heard by the rest of the population.

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

No problem.

The majority of Americans of Americans don't want the mosque built on that site.

Better?

Yes better TY

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

Using ric27's logic, I haven't seen ric protesting the Catholic church's child molesters in the streets and on videos, therefore ric27 is supportive of child molesters. Using ric's logic of course.

Here's an interesting poll taken in Britain about four years ago. Whether these numbers hold true today, and elsewhere, is difficult to say.

Poll reveals 40pc of Muslims want sharia law in UK - Telegraph

But if even one percent of 3 million Muslims believe that terrorism against their fellow Brits is justified, that's still a significant number.

Have you ever seen Ric at all?

Re: Mosque in new york to possibly move!

Nope so therefore he must support it. I mean, you don't see every Muslim protesting and yet people think the majority support terrorism, so the same logic applies to ric27. Have you been out protesting in public demonstrations child molestation in the Catholic church?

No one is stopping any Muslim families murdered by their fellow Muslims, from speaking out, Moot.

The fact that there were mosques in the WTC tells us how inclusive Americans are, and how responsive they are to the sensibilities of others.

Too bad more Muslims don't share the same attitudes.

Sorry, but you're a waste of time.

Sorry, but you're a waste of time.

And yet, here you are responding, interesting. The simple fact is the anti-Mosque people are acting like spoiled Children who have no understanding of what it means to be American and have freedoms.

That has nothing to do with the reasons given for this Mosque

Let it slide or not?.....Nope

I am not Catholic, but please show me the Catholic teaching that promoted, gave rules for, or condoned child abuse. I realize that there are some scandals involving this behavior. The fact that they are scandals is the difference here. There is no moral equivalence between Islam and Christianity. The Islamic world thinks it's a scandal that we discuss their practices. They do not see the practices as a scandal.

Just so I have this straight...

You and many other Islamic apologetics deplore and rightfully seize upon every moment to lambast the Catholic church over incidents of pedophilia but the repeated and systematic cultural depravities of Islam get a pass?

Is it that muslims will get upset? If so, why? Aren't you guys proud of their culture and religion? I mean sure, they routinely practice depravities that would make the most hardcore of the German S&M scene blanch, but that's just because theirs is the enlightened religion of peace right?
