MSU student arrested for throwing pie at senator

Shooting her on the spot would probably have been a good idea. It would send a signal to next asshole, who assaulted a member of our government with an actual lethal weapon that he won't live long after the attack.

So, on that point, we're in agreement.

I like it! We can be just like North Korea!

You wouldn't be so sarcastic if The One got smacked in the face with a pie, or anything else.
I'd laugh my ass off if any politician got hit in the face with a pie - although I don't want them getting hurt by the pan.

What if the pie had a small frag in it? Or some other dangerous apparatus and caused injury? What if the pie was a distraction from the actual attack involving a gun, or a knife and that politician was killed? How funny would it be, then?

I think some folks are having a hard time seeing the potential hazards here.

No, it will still be just as funny and it would still be just a ridiculous to suggest shooting and possibly killing someone for doing something as harmless as throwing a baked good. You are using a slippery slope fallacy here. I doubt throwing a pie will lead to anything more dangerous.

What if you are breathing fire? Really, you are stretching it quite a bit here.

No, I don't think I'm stretching it at all.

In the early evening of March 23, 1994, at a campaign rally in Lomas Taurinas, a poor neighborhood of Tijuana, Baja California, Colosio was shot in the head from a distance of a few centimeters in front of a person recording video nearby. There was no foreign press coverage of this campaign event in spite of it happening only a few miles south of San Diego, California. Colosio collapsed, and was subsequently rushed to the city's main hospital, after plans to fly him to an American hospital across the border were cancelled. His death was announced a few hours later; amid contradicting eyewitness reports that remain to this day.

As I said, if this were The Messiah, folks like you wouldn't be so blase' about it.

I mean just a pie, with none of the other things you mention.

Of course, if any of those other things were involved, I wouldn't find it funny.

Like I said before, it should be mandatory (as in, the law) that all political figures get hit in the face with a pie at least once per month.

Of course, you're allowed to control the situation so it's not impromptu, they can have their own bodyguards do it if they want.

It's not like some random person has to do it.

1) That story is about someone shooting someone else, with a gun. No pie was involved. I might as well link to an article about a dog doing backflips, because that would be about as relevant to this story as your link was.

2) I still think no one would cause a fuss if it was done to Obama. They might call the perpitrator an idiot for trying it with the secret service around, but beyond that I don't think there would be much outrage.

Actually know what else we learned from this story. President Bush has better dodging skills than Senator Levin. President Bush would totally have been able to get out of the way.

I could post a million photoshopped gifs, but I'm too lazy to find them all.

This is clearly another example of the islamofascist attacks on our country. Once again, a muslim commits an act of terrorism and once again, the complicit liberal media downplays it.

Typical teabagger. Where are all the conservatives condemning this act of violence? By turning a blind eye to this assault on our nation's freedoms, they're implicitly authorizing more right-wing attacks like this. Conservatives should be ashamed of what they've become.

...maybe these guys are just assholes?

Somebody ought to throw some pigs blood on Mohsen. I hope the meals at the local jail are Halal. Islamist bitch.

I understand that you think it's funny, because it's just a pie. My point is, it was just a pie, this time.

If a person can get that close with a pie, she can get that close with a deadly weapon

I do condemn it. the person is a jerk and should be thrown in jail.

And I'm sure you condemned the kids who screamed down Ann Coulter in Canada right?

And where is your evidence that all tea baggers support what happened here?

BTW, not a single conservative (thats conservative) or anyone who has said positive things about the tea party has supported the pie throwing so you might want to rethink your sloppy generalization.

The OP was sarcasm.

So, do you lock your doors at night?

Perhaps we should drop all security details around Obama, Biden, Pelosi and Reid? Afterall, having such high security is just plain-ole paranoia. Eh?

The next time an old dude shows up at the WH gate, asking to see the president, with a squirrel rifle behind the seat of his pickup, they should just let him strole right on in?

Didn't all the libs think it was funny when it happened to people like Ann Coulter?

A pie today...a hand grenade tomorrow...or, a mayonaise jar full of sulphuric acid.

We need to go ahead and make an example of this individual, right here, right now.

Agreed.

And let's put this guy in charge of doing just that:

Can anyone name the actor and the move? (hint: the pie scene was cut from the film)
