Accused “Craigslist Killer” Philip Markoff committed suicide at the Nashua Street Jail in Boston, where he was being held awaiting trial in the slaying of Julissa Brisman, according to Steven Tompkins, spokesman for the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.

Markoff, 24, was pronounced dead at 10:17 this morning. While authorities are still investigating, Markoff was alone in his cell and all evidence collected so far indicates that it was a suicide, said a statement released by Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.

That should save a few taxpayer dollars.

So much for the Pro-life position!

I for one am glad to see him go. A lot of people thought he went to BU undergrad. NOPE. I go to the undergrad and he went to the medical school. I was always asked a lot of questions if I knew the guy.

There is good news being reported. One less worthless being on the planet.

He was a ***** who was too big a coward to face the music. **** him.

A perspective I hadn't thought of from the AP article:
The Associated Press said:
A lawyer said Brisman's family was "shocked and dismayed" to hear of Markoff's death.

"Their grief for Jullissa is as fresh today as the day over a year ago when Markoff took Julissa away from them," Boston attorney Djuna Perkins said in an e-mail. "The long-awaited criminal prosecution was their only opportunity to confront him, and now he has taken that away as well."

You tried to make a cheap, crass political point on the back of a murdered woman and failed. Congratulations, Chappy!

They were actually investigating because they found more evidence that he killed another 9 women.

I don't even know who he's talking to on the pro-life front, but nor do I care.

I am sorry for his parents and loved ones because no matter how many wrong turns Philip took - he's still their baby boy. 24 is far too young for a life to end, regardless of what brought him to that point. And obviously their grief will do nothing to bring back his victim or bring closure to her family.

Just sad all around.
